Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Maybe he had been surprised that the male had not even flinched at his arrival - whether it be the arrival of a stranger in the night or more important, a stranger that had damn well decimated the face of Spirane's king. Of course, the exact relation of Swallowbane to Spirane's Alcide went unknown to Tesseract though perhaps some small part of him hoped it was... a close relation. If Tesseract could not stir the pot himself without having his paws burnt then let others do it for him; let them throw each pack into disarray so that he may pick up the pieces. Besides, alliances were always appreciated. Perhaps a lower ranked wolf in a pack was just that - just a low ranked wolf - but as an ally, they could be so much more... especially if they reeked so strongly of anger, was it? Truly though, Tesseract cared at least a little. What was it about Spirane that made its own wolf so prone to wandering away? To sitting and watching out over the lake as if it were his last night?

Discord and teen angst, huh? He cocked a brow, his head twisting towards Swallowbane and tilting with an utmost quizzical and bemused look. His fault? He thought on this for a moment in silence, watching the boy who simply refused to meet his gaze. How peculiar - self blame, what a strange thing. Tesseract was no stranger to it, of course. It had been his fault he'd not won against an old wolf, after all but what of this boy?

"I doubt those that blame you are without blame themselves. Does a fight not take two?"

He shrugged, thumping his tail behind him briefly before twisting back to watch the lake and the stars that reflected within it. Tesseract could relate to the discord for that had seemingly been most of his life - discord between he and his siblings, his mother, his father and even his mother's mate, or ex-mate at least. Of course, teen angst made little sense for him. At only a few months old, he had decided on whom he had desired as a mate and just what he had desired to give her. He'd always had it worked it out but nonetheless, that discord got in the way over and over again. Perhaps this boy, this wanderer of Spirane, and he were more alike than they both knew. He pondered this in silence, his voice replaced with the hymn of crickets before he broke the ice once more.

"Is it this angst that allows you to sit so contently with he who had desired to overthrow your King? Are you not the least concerned as to why I have to come to sit with you, stranger?"

He chuckled lightly before dipping his head in a brief bow of greeting and tentative respect. After all, he truly had come with no malicious intent, simply curiosity. It took time to unearth just who and what another was, and he had all the time in the world if this stranger did too. A mutual benefit, perhaps.

"Tesseract. And you are? If I might be so brazen to ask, of course."

With that, he settled back onto his haunches, watching the boy from the corner of his eye, one half of his mouth pulled up into a wicked grin.
