Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

She had gotten calmer the closer they got to Glorall, the familiar scent -the one that now clung to own coat- of salt and water and storms hanging in the air. She closed her eyes, inhaling deep, chest expanding and lungs burning deliciously at the stretch. Home. For the first time in her life, she had a home. A real home, not one she was dying to get out of or just a place to sleep for the night. She had a den for the first time in what seemed like ages, an actual den, not just one she'd use for a night or two. She had her first rank here. She had a sister. She had an apprentice. She had her Chickadee here with her and her Nootau just a walk away. Everything was good. She would protect her beach and her ocean and her pack with all she had. It wasn't any more simple or any more complicated than that. Well, that wasn't entirely true. Now that he was here, things just got a lot more complicated.

Her ears twitched at his question, a smile tugging her lips as she thought once more about the socially awkward little female. She felt his eyes on her yet again, but this time she maintained contact, determined not to break it this time. She saw the dare, and she wouldn't back down. If there was anything she would not do, it was pussyfoot around a dare. "A healer," She said, chin lifting a notch. Her and Jagger were complete opposites; one devoted to healing wounds and one devoted to dishing them out. One was socially awkward and shy, the other, outgoing, and as comfortable in crowds as she was on her own. One was big and scarred, the other was small and delicate. Nonetheless, the two were thick as thieves despite knowing each other for such a short time.

The scent at the borders was strong, her's commingling due to her shifts of border duty. While he sat on the other side of the borderline she crossed it with ease, sitting on the other side of it, safe within the confines of the ocean kingdom for the time being. She blanched at first, hearing the words "warrior love" coming out of his mouth, though thankfully he moved on to another question. She pricked her ears at his second question, thinking it over herself, grateful for the distraction. "My sister was already a part of the pack when we met. I didn't have a den so she offered to take me here and Tess accepted me into his pack." she shrugged, not thinking about calling her alpha by his nickname. He was a friendly wolf, a fair and just leader. She considered him among the ranks of her friends instead of just simply the head of her pack.

She was actually feeling at ease until he brought up pups, then she did a complete one-eighty, raising herself into a standing position, fangs bared and a growl rumbling from her throat. Pups? Hell no. Not that she didn't like them or anything, but the thought of being responsible for the life of another living creature, one so small and fragile, freaked her out. But despite this, images of little black and grey puffballs with green-blue eyes flitted through her head before she ruthlessly smashed them down. Maybe someday, and that was a big maybe, but not anytime close. She never envisioned a mate and pups in her future. She just imagined an extension of her life now; fight, protect, fight some more. "Not even in your dreams." She snarled, hackles raising. Well great. Now she was on the verge of killing him again.

Her sister, bless her awkward little heart, was what saved him. Turning away from the infuriating merle, she wagged her tail, a smile gentling her face and her rumbles dying faced with the auburn girl. "Chicky love!" She called, her mood considerably less murderous. She returned her shoulder bump with a nuzzle, the nervous intrusion went completely uncared for by the bigger female, used to the shy ways of the healer in training. That, and she saved her from spilling blood on her own borders. She mimicked her motions, shifting back to a sitting position, close enough so their sides brushed. She needed the contact to keep her grounded, to keep her from doing something stupid.

Chicky, this is..." She tried to say it, she really did. Her eye twitched a small growl spilled before she quickly reined it back. She didn't know how her sister felt about her near constant growling when it came to him, but she couldn't imagine she liked it."Splash." She bit out, uttering the man's name for only the second time since Fidelis. She flattened her ears and glared at him, giving a huff. She hoped he wouldn't cause any more trouble than he already had, though with him it was almost a certain he'd be up to no good. She only hoped that now she'd given in -by some measure, at least- he'd let up on his attempts at wooing her. She knew she was hoping for nothing, but it kept her from ripping his windpipe.
