Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.

Mae’s gentle features settled into a soothing calmness as she took in the glowing landscape. She could see so far into the distance that mist seemed to settle on the horizon, blurring the land from the sky. She wondered what was out there, way beyond. How many wolves were going about their lives without stopping to look around, how many were sad, lonely or happy, joyful right now? So many questions but overlaying them all, easing them into little more than temporary thoughts, was the sense of peace that flooded through her. She turned back to face Terrel, eyes still wide with awe, and chuckled alongside him. “Truthfully I’m not sure I could manage waking up so early every day, though I understand that you have to adapt to it. When I left my birth pack I was so nervous of every little danger that it’s hard to believe that I managed to find sleep at all.”

She smiled fondly, remembering being a young teen, setting off alone. Many a night was spent regretting the decision to leave, and a pang of sadness still struck her no matter how much time passed whenever she thought of the lands she once called home, the place that held the only blood relatives she’d ever known. Looking back, however, she wouldn’t change it for anything. A bit of difficulty had led her to a joy filled life as a member of Saw Tooth, and had set her on the path that eventually led her to Terrel. The thought brought a wider, private smile to her face. It may look strange that she seemed to be smiling for no reason, but she was too happy both to have met the male and to be able to see him again to care. She watched him, noticing the way the golden rays curved around his body, blending the patches of different brown hues together in a striking way. Handsome, really, was the only way she could have described him at that moment.

As the brute promised that he’d never leave it so long before calling for her, further relief washed through her. She was glad, as she’d missed him dearly. “Thank you; I’d like to see you often,” she spoke the words a bit quieter than usual, unsure why she should be embarrassed by them. He took a moment to lick behind her ear as he made his promise, and she took the opportunity to nudge her cheek against his in a more physical display of her gratitude. Terrel swiftly moved onto his haunches after that, and so the femme copied him. Truth be told she was still a little weary from the long trek so soon after waking up, and so was glad they were now seated. Her tail, fluffier than the silky fur covering her body, curled around her slightly so that the tip covered most of her front paws. Every now and then it lifted and fell, wagging with content laziness.

“Yes,” she was happy to inform him upon his enquiry, “I’ve seen Channing fairly recently. In fact, I caught a rabbit and brought it to her den for her.” She had enjoyed the older female’s company, and was always happy to be able to help out a pack mate. Loving by nature, she’d happily hunt for a large, healthy wolf if she had the time to, so it was only natural for her to make time to both hunt and visit the femme who’d looked very under the weather the first time they met. “She seems to be doing much better than the day you left, though understandably is not yet in full health.”

Mae listened to his following musings about Channing and Henadin’s pups before speaking again. “The pups seem well,” she smiled fondly, remembering the moment she saw them, “Though I can’t say I have any experience with pups, let alone ones of that age, so my judgement isn’t too great.” She thought for a moment before carrying on, both understanding and not about why Terrel didn’t feel love for the pups. “Neither,” she continued, “Have I had any experience in the situation you’re in. However given the situation, it’s nice to hear that you treasure them, especially seeing as they are very cute.” She grinned at him as she confirmed his last statement.

The femme waited a few moments before sharing her thoughts further. She decided to continue speaking, trusting that he wouldn’t say anything judgemental and knowing that if she couldn’t occasionally spill her thoughts to the wolf she was closest to, she wouldn’t be able to talk about them at all. “I don’t know about you but I’ve never seen pups at such a young age,” she began, “It’s strange…how small they are, and thinking about what they could grow up to be. They probably won’t even remember this part of their lives…I wonder how things are from their point of view. I certainly can’t remember being that age.” She looked back out over the land, knowing that even now the family was out there somewhere in her line of vision, but out of sight. Her ears fell a little to the sides as she looked shyly back to him, “Seeing them curled up all defenceless…kind of made me feel protective of them. It’s weird obviously, because they aren’t mine, but I couldn’t help it.”

OOC: Sorry it took so long, but I think there’s enough cuteness in there to make up for it (I hope so at least :P). Poor Mae doesn’t understand maternal instincts XD
