Summer gripped Moladion, the heat roiling across the lands. When the sun was at its highest point in that afternoon sky, Iromar was humid and in some respects unbearable. Typically these hot afternoons would find Lux sprawled across large, flat rocks that were shaded by the low hanging branches of the few trees in the pack lands. Today, however, Lux had sought out Dimitri and the small group of yearlings that had volunteered to travel with her to Glorall during the mid morning hours. She wished to be well on their way to the cooler shores of Glorall before the sun reached its zenith. When the three yearlings approached Lux snarled at them, vocalizing her distaste at their presence. She snapped her jaws at each of them in turn, pushing them back until only one stood before her. Which one was left she really didn’t care. If she’d had her way none of them would be accompanying her. Hell she would have preferred to travel alone to Glorall, but Ishtar had mandated that she take Dimitri and a youngwolf with her. So that was what she would do. Turning away from Dimitri and the youngwolf, she picked up a long legged jog. Her gait was fluid and carried her at a steady pace towards the south eastern border of Iromar. When they reached the coastline she turned east and continued along the coastline. A salty breeze ruffled her long, silky fur and she was glad for the reprieve from the humidity that came standard in their swampy home. One particular draft of sea air exposed the scar tissue along her right side, a result of the war with Diveen. But the fur settled back over the scar and hid it once more. It did not take them long to reach the coastal border of Glorall, and as the sun began to reach its peak, Lux moved further inland until she reached a location shaded by a small gathering of trees. However, they were not so far inland that the sea breeze did not reach them. Happy with their location, she glanced to Dimitri and whichever yearling had managed to tag along. Her lips curled slightly when she looked at the child, but she did not snarl at him as she might have on any other occasion. “I will be doing the talking; we’re here to organize a treaty between Iromar and Glorall. From what I know, this might not be the easiest thing to come by – the alpha’s here were once the heirs to our home, and their mother is our Cerberus. Things could go either way.” At this she focused on Dimitri. He was along to be the muscle, though Lux did not suspect a fight would ensue. She would do her best to arrange an amiable agreement between the two packs. With that, she turned away from the two wolves that had accompanied her and stepped forward nearer the border before lifting her crimson striped skull towards the sky and releasing a long howl, requesting the presence of Tesseract. When the note was complete, she lowered her snout but remained standing, glad for the slight breeze and the gentle shade of the tree. Afterall, black fur had a tendency to soak up direct sunlight. |
