Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

My eyes are closed as the sun beams down on my fur, warming my flesh. It's days like this when I'm happy to be white in color, at least mostly. I don't get overheated as easily as the darker wolves. A contented sigh drifts from my lips. Suddenly a smell I could never forget enters my nostrils and my eyes open, affection immediately making them brighten as I lift my head to look for my daughter. I wonder what she's been up to all day but when I see her approaching, I squint my eyes to see what's in her mouth. Is that a mouse? And it looks to be still alive!

I lift myself to my stomach and prick my ears, amusement glowing in my gaze as Viora comes up to me and sets the mouse down in front of me. Of course it tries to scurry away while she's bragging so I generously put my paw down on its back to hold it in place. I press down just firmly enough to pin it to the rock but not enough to kill it. I'm saving those honors for Viora. I can see how much this means to her. I smirk and reach over to nuzzle at Viora's forehead, licking it before I pull back.

"I'm so proud of you, honey. Now do it the mercy of finishing it off. It's not humane to make it suffer."

My voice is gentle, the voice of a teacher. I didn't start off as such a good mother because of my grief over Cobryn but now it's time to pick up where I left off and become the mother they deserve and yes, the teacher they deserve.
