aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

The soft flutter of a butterfly’s wings was the best thing to describe Leila at that moment in time, she felt light and she swayed on the beat of happiness as if nothing could possibly ever break or damage her mood. The ashen dame sat idly among the rain dusted grass, inhaling deeply to retrieve the fresh scents brought by the chilled air. A slight dampness clung to her hide as she sat; sun-kissed stargazers watching the land that she now called home. She hadn’t left the territory in a long time but even so, an innocent smile sat plainly upon her kissers. Leila’s days had been spent attending to herself, she was not wounded but for the past week she felt the need to pamper and only pay attention to herself. Aurora was quiet; she had heard gossip of some sort of commotion but had never thought to address the matter even further despite her naturally curious nature. The tempest missed her friends… Kal, Hellene and even newly acquainted Magic. She missed the enchanted nights spent frolicking in. And so, the days of laziness and solitary were no longer…

It dusted the fresh air, sinking the bitter chemicals into her nostrils and filling her with a mighty sense of dread… it was anger. Her orang eyes darted around, her ears straining desperately to hear any signs that would give her a clear sense of understanding. But she could hear nothing but the soft muffle of raised voices. Leila stood, shaking her darkened pelt as she calculated the most accurate route to take. And sniffing the air, the dame managed to collect the slight scents of various wolves.

The time was brief as she ran, the doe felt frantic to understand what had occurred in the once seemingly quiet kingdom. It was unknown yet but if this pack was under thread it was her duty to be there for support. Aurora Borealis had offered her a stable life, an environment where she could mature into a young lady and gain morals that had once never mattered to her. Her loyalty to her pack and her loyalty to Kalgalath and Zig only grew, day by day. Upon arrival, her gaze fell upon the intimidating stance of the stranger, who stood with a pallid fledgling beneath his paw – and with a small gasp she released that this was in fact, Khaleesi. Immediately, she turned to Hellene. She could only imagine the distress and angst that was running through her body. And without any consideration, she released a quiet whine – confrontation was not something she was experienced in, being only a young adult herself. But this was Hellene’s pup, Destan’s sister and a part of Aurora Borealis! And so, her whine soon turned into a low snarl and her hackles rose.

She slinked to stand beside Hellene. She would always stand beside her. But she did not make any sudden movement, and she did not talk, for the risk of the pup’s life sent her heart racing in a series of fright. But there were many questions that swarmed within her mind, who was this stranger, what did she want and who – was the other female? But Leila was quiet.

oh darling, won't you dance with me?
