Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

It has always amazed her how water seems to ebb all her worries away whether a simple drop of rain hitting her mostly black fur to swimming in a river; she always felt a connection to it, like her, it always there but not always seen, constantly moving, either in mind or body; the one resource that no living creature can go a few days without. It’s has been a long time since she has been around others, her last traveling companion left about two years ago though she hadn’t been close to him, they just happened to be traveling in the same direction. Over this time she has come to learn that there is nothing quite like the feeling of being alone, you want to be with others but after a certain amount of time it becomes difficult to tell friend from foe.

As she watched the older female approach closer in a playful manner, she smirked for she hasn’t been around someone with so much positive energy since she was a pup. As Niviaq came to her, Spirit caught her scent; the scent of colder air, pines, and other wolves if, she had to guess Spirit would say her new friend was from a pack in mountainous area. Her almost white tipped ears swiveled forward as Niviaq responded telling her that she was from many places but she indicates the mountain to the west is what she currently calls home, proving her theory. Then the others’ face noticeably saddens as she speaks of how she used to have a home with the pack by the sea. Then Niviaq asked Spirit of her origins.

“Well like you I have been many places, the place in which I was born all remember of it is that it was cold, heavily wooded, and snowy. You see I’m from a, I guess the best way to describe it, nomadic pack we never stayed in one place for more than a couple days, as for home well …. Home is where others care about you and seeing how I parted with my ‘pack’ I haven’t really had one.” Spirit responded straining the word pack.

Niviaq shuffles her paws, then asks if we could sit and explaining that her journey was a little longer than she thought.

“Of course we can, it’s easy to lose track of distance when you are in your thoughts.”Spirit says understandingly as she trots over to a place shaded by the trees lays down.

As Niviaq settles, Spirit asks her “so you spoke of the pack by the sea, do you like water?” it’s a responsible question simply because, just because one lives by water doesn’t mean they like it, at the same time a lot of wolves like water, and others love it. Personally she is hoping this will bring about a happier brighter conversation topic for she didn’t like seeing the other sad.

Spirit covered her almost white paws with her frost tipped tail watching the other female chat in wonder; this was the first wolf that has calmed Spirit’s natural flightiness.

“So what’s your current pack like?” Spirit asked, knowing packs can make a world of difference to a single wolf.
