Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Always weary, and ever watchful. Since first coming to Moladion, it had become a habit for the large wolf. It had taken her no time at all to find her Iblis- both her heart and her soul in one being, and from that point on it had been touch and go. Her shining knight was both popular as well as unpopular, with various wolves throughout the land. Rhae had learned much from their experiences together, and knew that she would be learning much more. But for the time being, they were content. It had been over a year now that it had all begun and she knew there would be many more to come- if all went well. But with a wanted wolf, one could never be too careful. Which was why bright teal irises gaze hard within the blizzard swirling all around. Iblis had gone off on his own to hunt, something the creme and cinnamon and chocolate wolf had never been too keen on, and it had been some time since his return. Her children were warm and safe, she knew- but what of her Iblis? Something was nagging in the depth of her being and though she did not know exactly what it was, she knew it was something.

And so she had slipped out of the warm den and had been scenting the storm raging on for any hint of his return. But with that odd feeling growing with every passing moment, she could not keep her paws still. Her light and occasionally darkly marked coat was thick and warm, more than suitable for the current blasting of the snow. She knew her love did not fair so well, with both his shorter, smaller stature and thinner coat. Something was off and she needed to find him- and fast. Letting her instincts guide her, her large paws carried her tall frame in a direction that felt.. right. And then as Fate will have it, the most familiar scent hit her- it was Iblis, but not only Iblis but blood as well. His blood. She'd know it anywhere, given having been around him while injured, and even tending to him. Such was her duty beside him, after all- they took care of one another, and their children. Together. Instantly her mind went into overdrive and her steps became full out lopes as she urged her thick muscles further.

She had to get to him, it was as simple as that. She had to reach him and make sure all was well- that he was well and remain as such. Growling lightly beneath her breath, her bright teal eyes kept a careful watch all around for others that were approaching as well, for one never knew just what or who the scent of blood would draw in. A dark fourm is then slowly coming into focus within the white wall ahead and Rhae is letting out an alert and friendly but short bark. She does not want others to know she is here- but she wants Iblis to know. She wants him to know just who she is so that he is not startled or caught off guard. But at this point, not only can she both see and scent him clearly- she can feel him, within her chest and very core. She is drawn to him and she is loath to resist. Closing the distance between them she is also scoping him out, trying to find the source of the blood. The crimson stain is obvious in the trail behind him, and this has a small whine escaping her muzzle.

It is his paw and while she presses herself against him, shoulder to shoulder at first, Rhae is then leaning down with her creme muzzle to gently lick at the still fresh and bleeding wound. It is not too deep, but she knows it hinders him and this she will help him with. Without even a word being spoken, she is turning and saddling her body up along side his. He is shorter than her of course, and so she leans down a bit to offer him her shoulder if he wished to get his weight off the paw. While her eyes are all over him, drinking him in and focusing mainly on him, Rhae still occasionally glances around them, forever weary and anxious about their surroundings. She could not help it for it simply came as habit at this point. Such was life in the free lands, but such was life with Iblis. Leaning over just a tad more, she nudged her dark nose against the fire marked fur of his neck, closing her eyes for that brief moment and filling her senses with him.

He was her night and day, her sun and moon and stars, her heart and soul, her shining knight, her Iblis. And she would be damned if she let any wolf- be they a demon of Iromar or another loner- ever touch him in harm or illwill. Rhae would not let anything happen to him so long as she could help it, and she would give her life for him. Not gladly, but willingly. Their children were her world- but her imprint and mate was her entire being. They were an inseperable pair and the only thing that could truly tear them apart would be death itself. And so that simply needed to be prevented, and so it was with a fierce determination that tall wolf kept as close as can be to the slightly limping smaller wolf. She would share her body warmth with her frame so close to his, almost pressing firmly against one another as they continued their way back to the warmth of their hidden den. All would be well, and if not- she would force it to be so.
