The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

All Men Should Keep Their Word, Kings Most of All

The brute wandered the pack’s lands. They were still new to him, even though he already had a rank and he felt that he needed to know the lands more. He was surprised, but proud, that Kershov had already awarded him with the title of Co-Captain of the Abendrot soldiers, second in command to Marx. He would be able to help lead the soldiers alongside Autumn Leaf who shared the same title as him. Grey Wind had not spoken to this femme and he would have to seek her out in order to get to know her. He didn’t Marx very well either, but he had at least met Marx and spoken to him. The brute thought it would do well for the three of them to meet and determine if they had any plans for the powerful warriors of Abendrot.

The grey titan walked the perimeter of the borders, letting the scent of Abendrot fill his nares, the scent of his home. Grey Wind never thought he would have ended up here, not that there was anything wrong with Abendrot, it did feel like home for him. The rumors he had heard about these lands, filled with vicious lupines that enjoyed killing and hurting others, attacking anyone at their borders, fresh blood always being spilt by the warriors that lived inside its depths. He knew that these wolves here all had a sadistic side to them, and being around them brought out a different side in him. Grey Wind had never longed to hurt others, but things inside him had changed. There was a monster brewing within, one that sought revenge for the wrongs that had been done to him, to make those that had wronged him pay in blood and pain. A growl escaped his throat, anger bubbling within, itching to come out.

As Grey Wind trotted around the borders he caught the foreign scent of a strange lupine, one with no trace of Abendrot on their pelt. He picked up the pace, heading towards the stranger, wondering if it were friend or foe. Before stepping through the trees he paused for a moment, trying to determine what this lupine’s intentions were. He saw a femme waiting at the borders, her pelt and eyes a golden color, but Grey Wind did not let beauty distract him. He did not see any immediate threat from her and he walked out of the trees, his hackles rising unconsciously, yellow orbs alert to the stranger he was approaching. He stood a few feet away from the stranger, ”Hello. My name is Grey Wind, Co-Captain of the soldiers of these lands. What is your business here?” He spoke briefly to her, letting her know that he was not just any lupine in these lands and that he was not to be messed with if her intentions were not good. He stood watching her, waiting for a response.
