Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Return to Lunar Children
I fell in love with a shooting star
IP: 24.27.96.14

He WAS enjoying his time in the mystical woods of Taviora. A part of the land that seemed to be secret only to himself. A land full of mists and sprites. The stars glow brighter here, with more dazzle and sparkle. It is a land where Starfall can linger alone. A land that he has become familiar with as he lives in Taviora. A land built in his own mind, just as real as any. He walks on the fresh snow that sprinkles the land of dreams, his paws seemly float on top and never leave an imprint. He winds through the trees, covered in still-green vines, littered with glowing fairies that giggle as he passes by. One even passes by his nose, bopping him gently and he snaps in its direction with a smirk on his dark grey face.

He was making his way to the top of the mountain. A place where he can view the tops of the trees. Where he can see for distances long and wide. The aurora was also glimmering above him, wild colors of green wisping across the sky in a marvelous fashion. Yes, he was quite enjoying his time in the mythical land of his own mind, when it all melted away into darkness. The transition. One that was always to come. He never got to stay in one reality forever. It always switched, changes with the darkness to a place different.

He awoke in his den, clouded blue eyes with flashes of yellows and pinks opening, glimmering in the faint light as his ears catch the sound of a growl. His hackles immediately raise, flashes of red highlighting his dark form as the scent of his father tickles his nostrils. Well, Starfall wasn't exactly surprised that he had come. He had told Azrael that he was leaving, and he was completely enraged by the fact and refused to let him. Starfall did it anyway, telling Guardian just so no one would worry too much. Obviously telling Azrael didn't work out...if only the dark boy knew that it wasn't his true father he was speaking to, but the father in his dream world.

With an irritated snarl, Starfall rose. His legs of black, touched with speckles of white, lifting his large form from the comfort of his warm den. He had grown quite a bit now. For some wolves, this would be their adult size at 30 inches. Starfall still had much room to grow, with his legs a bit lanky and awkward still. His face though, had matured to look quite a bit more handsome. Some would argue, that he was starting to overtake his father in dashingly good looks. It is that masculine face speckled in the white that first pushed out of the den, his eyes narrowed at his father as he spoke. He hears the words as he adjusts, sitting outside the den with his completely misplaced hair. Hair that wold surely terrify the male before him. The most horrendous bed hair on the planet. He sits with an irritated face, staring his father down with his mysterious eyes until he finished his little rant. Starfall only gave a moody smirk.

"Abandon? Upset Mother? Do you not remember when I told you I wanted to go to Taviora? How Coszcotl understood me like no one else had? Remember how you got angry and YELLED at me?" he said with a hint of an attitude. Part of Starfall almost seemed hurt that Azrael would yell at him like that for doing what he wanted in life. Dream Azrael did tend to be an amplified version, but Starfall did not know the difference. He was one and the same. Something else stirred in the mind of the young boy though, and his tail flicked to the side before he spoke again.

"And speaking of Mother, I haven't done anything that she hasn't done. Do you not know of how she came to this place? How she left Grandfather forever without even saying goodbye? Without telling ANYONE? And she never went back? I mentioned going to Taviora to you, you got angry and wanted to stop me, so I told Guardian and left so no one could stop me. At least I will go back to visit, and that is more than you can say about mom," he said on edge of yelling, his hackles raised slightly as he remain sitting next to his den. Did Azrael even ask to come in? Did he even obey the border at all, or did he just saunter in here? Starfall had half the mind to tell Azrael to beat it, to stand at the border and respect Coszcotl's boundaries. He snorts, smokey clouds puffing from his nostrils in the crisp cold air. He just might do that if his father annoys him enough.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
