Peace isn’t a permanent state. It exists in moments

ONLY DEATH AND LOVE CHANGE ALL THINGS

On her journey to whatever it was Sylvia had made a friend.

Sahin was confident and prudent, a true gentlemen. She is glad to have come across a soul like he had. Something about their encounter helped ease her into being relaxed and not so pent up. Since the moment Midas left disappearing like a ghost in the ocean Sylvia constantly felt restless. At first her muscles ached because she constantly paced the beach going from island to island hoping to come across Midas, dead or alive.

The time blurred together and Sylvia eventually forced her search to come to an end.

Only then did she end up tucked away in the islands doomed to be frozen with a man who she barely knew. He was handsome and quiet and kind enough to allow her to stay with him. At the time Sylvia was broken emotionally and to physically weak to go anywhere else so she stayed and kept to herself allowing her to stay out of everyone’s way. Only recently did she actually leave inlet and come across Sahin who reminded her of her long ago deceased friend encantador.

Thinking of him as she moved slowly up a large rock with moss like grass on top Sylvia smiled

Encantador held many personality traits like Sahin which was the reason why Sylvia felt at home with her friend. Sahin helped ease the longing for her friend but unfortunately him nor fundamental really made her constantly longing for Midas go away.

For a fleeting moment she thought she’d broken free of her never ending nightmare

Sylvia remembered it quite vividly that day when she came across the harbor which was tattered and gone. She thought she finally had the strength to just let it go and accept that Midas was dead or gone for good. The high felt so exhilarating that she hadn’t realized she had been living low for so many years. The feeling brought back life to her sullen blue eyes and interest back into life which was what led her here now.

Like any high however; she came back down

Now her breathing was slow and the familiar and unwelcomed ache in her heart shot through her veins like liquor. Breathing in the cool crisp wind in gulps Sylvia’s eyes stared out across the sea standing on top of the ridge sort of near the edge with a few feet in front of her. It was completely silent up here making her ears ring against the gentle whispers of the wind. Seagulls in the distance called and flew in circles above her carefully being carried east by the stormy weather.

This was exactly what she needed

Buckling her front knees followed by her hindlegs Sylvia collapsed on the grass and sighed moving her soft muzzle to the ground. Flicking her right ear back comfortably with her other slouched to the side Sylvia closed her eyes and allowed her heart beat to sooth her nerves. Being here alone was the only thing that she could do. Trying to go back and be a grump to Fundamental wasn’t fair and going to see Claire to make her worry was selfish.

Sylvia just needed time to accept that her longing for Midas would never be over
