Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

The wolf moved further into these new lands. The ground had turned more soggy under his paws and soon there were even pools of water popping up around him. Orion figured he had run into a swamp, and while it wasn't the most pleasant of places, he had to admit that even a swamp had some sort of beauty about it. His yellow eyes looked around and his ears flicked at the various sounds of wildlife around him, like the splash of a fish in the water or the rustle of leaves signalling a bird or another small animal. The moonlight illuminated the path before him and made it easy to find his way, but he was still careful to watch his step. The ground could just as well swallow him up and everyone else would be none the wiser.

Orion came up to a more wet part of the swamp and he couldn't see any way around it. The murky water looked rather unappealing. He narrowed his eyes and stepped into the water, the thick mud squishing between his toes. He walked slowly as to not loose his balance. The water was up to his ankles, and then the middle of his legs, and then his stomach. He had never been too concerned with outward appearances but he didn't quite like being covered in swamp water either. Eventually the water receded and he was back onto relatively dry land. He shook off his fur, sending droplets tumbling through the air. Water still clung to the black hairs, but Orion knew he would dry off in time, and for now he would just have to deal with it.

The wolf continued along for some time until he noticed the log that formed a bridge to more solid ground. The scent of a female floated to his nostrils and Orion wondered if she had taken this same log to get to the other side. Orion wasn't interested in getting wet again so he jumped up onto the log and found his way to the other side. The scent grew stronger still and the black wolf noticed a similarly coloured wolf eating her prey on the mossy rock, bathed in the moonlight shining down from above. He didn't know if she would be friendly, but the first wolf he had met in these lands had been, so Orion figured he might as well try his luck.

"Hello?" he called curiously, yellow eyes looking up at the other. He was standing a comfortable distance away, and his posture was non-threatening. If she wanted him to move along he would, but he was still curious about these new lands, and the more wolves he met the better.
