Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

THE HUNTER

Orion tilted his head as Taliesin seemed surprised by his name. He couldn't help but wonder why that was. Perhaps he thought it was odd that he was named after a star. He didn't know anything about the packs in these lands and so any resemblace of his names to the ranking of his acquaintance's pack was lost on him. "Yes, that is right." he rumbled after Taliesin spoke aloud his name and what it meant. It was true that he was named after the star of the hunter, who chased his prey through the night sky, cartwheeling and tumbling through the endless black expanse. His next question came as a bit of a surprise to him, he had never heard that one before. Though not many knew of his namesake, either.

"I like to believe I do," Orion said in response. It may have been a vague way of answering the question but it was truthful. He was a capable hunter in the literal sense but he liked to believe that perhaps his name meant that he was hunting for something greater. A purpose, maybe. A way to help others. He wasn't sure what it was, but there was something out there calling to him, he just had to find it- had to hunt for it. His mother had told him to 'follow his dreams' and so he had, and he too tumbled through the lands like the stars tumbled through the sky. They were always there, twinkling above him. It made him feel safe, almost, as if his namesake were watching over him. It was a silly notion, but sometimes it did get him through the long cold nights that he oftentimes spent alone.

Taliesin's next statement took him by surprise. He was curious as to why he had said that, voicing his own thoughts from moments before out loud about the matter. Perhaps it was a common thought. "I suppose sometimes, it does. But seeing all the sights the world has to offer does make up for it." He said with sureness in his voice. Orion did believe that, in the bottom of his heart. He had no regrets about how he had chosen to live, not a single one. "Have you lived here your whole life?" the ebon wolf said with a vague gesture to the lands surrounding them. Perhaps the territory spanned far larger than this forest and covered all manners of terrain, but Orion wasn't quite sure.
