The Cavern of Secrets holds much more than you can imagine. Once a forbidden place, the ban on entrance has been released...yet, is it a good idea to enter?

Once a great battle had been fought in this cavern, against a dark beast that had once - and still might - dwell here. No one knows where he disappeared to, but there are rumours...

The wind was blowing erratically. It swirled through the ferns and the trees, bending away the soft tinge of an animal scent and replacing it with a cold, harsh taste of nothing. A world of sparkles danced in and out of the winter currents, flowing past and seeing the world in the eyes of a white queen. It was almost bitterly cold, the chill eating through muscles and bones and somehow finding cores to shake and steal. It was all so bright in the world, all so beautiful and never once did the wind suggest an evil. However, light could not always reveal the hidden. A small white ess floated, much like a breeze, through the snow. It was getting harder for her to move, considering that roots and branches of shrubs reached out and grabbed any passerby. The vixen found herself stumbling more than she ever really did, and that upset her; it had been awhile since she let herself fall onto her face. The girl was almost invisible in the day, her white coat blending into the swirling wind and snow. One of the smallest things was just about to give her away. Her feet were painted in black, the coal crow black climbing up her feet in the shape of a fire. Not a warm one; they were freezing.

The ess’ claws struggled to find places in the snow that could hold her weight, no matter how small she may have been. Her banner left a trail through the snow, a light long print in the face of the world. She didn’t know that, however. For you see, the ess was blind. Her eyes were clouded white like her pelt, the only color on her body the small blessing of black the gods had given her. They used to be such a beautiful light blue, such a tasteful fiery color that encouraged wolves to come up and greet her, to say hi to the fragile ess only reaching up to their shoulders. But, her vision had vanished before the world could let her see what truly amazing places it possessed. The magic of a midnight moon, of the stars and northern lights gleaming above your head. The silent, awe striking taste of fireflies as they dance around you in the dimming light of night. No, the world was harsher than that. She would never see blood, never see the eyes of a dying pup or the glimmer of loss burning through a wolf’s gaze. Perhaps maybe the world decided to save a wolf from the crushing sights of reality.

The vixen trudged through the snow, falling flat on her face as a tree root tangles around the width of her foreleg, sending her down in a painful tumble with fate. A small squeak pursed her kissers, the light of the moon invisible. The only thing that was good coming from being blind was the stronger senses. There was no wolf in this world that could walk ten feet away from her without being detected; her ears were so trained they could pick up the sound of an open wound. Her scent was almost as great as her hearing, the sound of wolves never too far away. Right then, the snow started to start piling in fewer mounds, the hardness of the ground leaking through the tops of the white. And then, a howl burst into her ears. Her auds flung back onto her cranium, her orbs squinting to the powerful sound. She didn’t know where she was, but she felt the height of a roof tower above her head. The darkness seemed to grab at her pelt, pull her in. Was she in a cave? The sound of a wolf was loud down the cavern, the wet puddles surprising the ess even further.

The girl waited a moment before she spoke, in case the wolf who made the sound was heard again or walked up to her. Breath was close, but very faint. The wolf decided to make herself known, the darkness of the cave probably disturbing to the stranger wolf as well. If they posed a threat, at least she had lived in darkness for the majority of her life. “Hello?” Her voice echoed out into the walls, her own vocals startling her as she had not heard them in a long time. She waited calmly, hackles raised slightly in case something she didn’t like jumped out and challenged her.
