At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

Some things are easier said than done...

The winter's passing left dead leaves to crumble on the dampened earth, the wind still chilled as the storms moved south. The light was starting to stay longer now, the darkness of North's den fading away with every passing moment, the light burning his gentle eyes.Shifting one scarred paw, the small male drug himself onto his side, stretching with a sigh before standing to his feet. His tail was tucked and ears flat as he peered from the safety of his small den, finally calling it clear and dancing into the morning light. Today he would venture to the lake for food and water.

His morning ritual of checking outside of his den was now a habit, for his abusive past has him frightened of others who might harm him. His disability was made up for in sight, but if somebody were to sneak up behind him he wouldn't know it. It was a struggle having to constantly watch his back, and steer clear of others at all costs. His attachment disorder was worsening, as well as his ability to remain calm and collected. Today was no different than the other times he had left his home, constantly turning his white skull to watch for danger. His tail flicked in a worried manner, as he paced through the brush and into the clearing by the lake.

Cautiously, North peered from his current location behind a withered shrub, gathering the courage to dart for the lake. Once he made sure nobody was going to pay attention to him, he slithered with his tail tucked and ears flat to the edge of the water, lapping at the chilled liquid eagerly before whipping his skull around to check for danger once more. Refocusing his attention to the waves, he waded into the ankle deep water and watched for small trout to swim by. Once he caught a glimpse of one, he lunged forth, grasping it in his jaws. The blood from the dying animal spilled down his face and into the water, dying him red temporarily before he rinsed it off in the lake. Crunching down, he kept a firm hold on it as he dashed from the water.

Finding a shady place beneath a tree, he dug a shallow pit and layed down, devouring the fish slowly to fulfill his hunger. A satisfied sigh slipped from his jaws as he finished it off, once again looking for danger. His iced gaze immediately shot towards a passerby, and he twitched in unease as his fur bristled to the slightest. Lifting his lip in the usual silent snarl, he flattened his ears against his skull.
