Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

I myself have always been quite pleased with Taviora's landscape. There were pockets of dense forest and areas thick with tall tundra scrub, but many other areas were wide and open fields of tundra plains. I liked the varied assets of the topography, for the forests provided cover and broke the harsh winter winds that swept down from Spirane. The scrub provided ample food for the array of prey animals and shelter with which pack wolves could sleep. Perhaps it lacked the beautiful vistas and pristine views of Diveen. It lacked the arrid, desert-like climate of the Angel citadel, but it had plenty to remind me of Paracon... and after all, Home Sweet Home for me, would Always be the Dojo of my Samurai King, no matter how far apart life divided us.

Since Tobias' attack I had been avidly vigilant of keeping a close tab on border security, running patrols myself and delegating patrols with Jago, though he's been missing lately. It didn't matter to me much however, as I needed to keep my restless mind ever busy. I carried myself with pride and confidence, feeling more fulfilled then I had in many years. I had duties to perform now, a purpose to serve and a Need that I've filled. I enjoyed my station that I've earned here, was more then pleased to be reunited with my Daughter Zeteri, with whom I now share my Guarded secret. She and Coszcotl were now the only ones aware of my true identity and origins.

My Alpha had already forewarned me that he had traveled to Diveen seeking assistance from their Assassins in hunting down Tobias. I knew what that meant- that here very soon Heyel and a party of Diveen's finest would come cavorting in here, and that there was a good chance that the very wolf for whom I wear this guise would be traveling with him.

Thus these last few days I've taken extra care to ensure my scent and my trademark splash of gold was thoroughly cloaked with charcoal ad dark ash. It seems in the past Taviora's landscape had suffered a fire, whether it was a wildfire or simply remnants of the Meteor that had collided into Moladian's landscape so long ago I didn't know... but there was an area hidden in Taviora that was still blanketed by charred earth, and I had rolled all over within it's soot to ensure nothing of my natural fragrane could be detected. It was difficult, given the winter season. I had to dig out the snow to reveal the ash, and being that it is the season of the Heat, my perfume was ampliphied. But I was meticulous in my task and felt confident that should the bounty hunters arrive from Diveen, I could face them with little concern for my appearance. With any luck, Devil wouldn't be among them, and I could rest at ease knowing that my secret was kept safe.

Still, the day arrives much too quickly for my liking, and though I'd mentally braced for the moment, I still felt somewhat anxious when the scent of Diveen hits my nares during my morning patrol. I was already close at hand to the scene where the attack had taken place, and despite my reservations, was quick to go to greet the Diveen wolves. I was the War Shield after all, and it was my duty to my pack to see to the affair as well as aide them in any way I could.

And so, obsidian paws carry lithe frame at a sultry lope towards the scene. My corsets lack their usual raven-like sheen, covered so in the soot to provide a more matte hue. Mis-matched gaze narrows upon the group as I arrive, steps slowing but never faltering even as my heart starts a quivering tat-too in my chest. The first wolf I spy is my son- Chance.

I can't even recall how long it had been since last I had seen him. I know he'd just introduced me to his new friend Spider, whom I'd learned later had turned out to be his imprint. He looked so handsome fully grown, and I cannot help the way my eyes linger for just a few extra moments, soaking in the sight of him and feeling my insides tingle with renewed pride.

What I would give to go to him in this moment, to embrace him and coddle him as if he were still only a child. To ask his forgiveness for not being there for him, as a good mother should. But I cannot, for to reveal myself to him would be to reveal myself to all. And so I do not. I circle the group wide, coming round to face Heyel, and at his other side...

I stop dead in my tracks. My gaze remaining carefully neutral, pinned upon Heyel for I cannot look directly upon the large black beast beside him. Oh, how I wanted to though. Even as my heart feels like it might implode, I keep my calm, displaying nothing but a cool observance within my gaze. I also keep my distance, a polite distance but far enough to keep myself somewhat vague.

"Welcome to Taviora, Legend among Angels," I speak to Heyel, dipping my head as I greeted him as if for the very first time. I deepen my voice, taking on a slightly gruffer tone then my usual sweet nocturne. "I am Alias... Warshield of Taviora and Beta to Coza." I am quick to introduce myself, and finally allow my glance to shift quickly to Devil. My heart flares like a wildfire, all the passion I've ever felt for him surging to the forefront of my mind tenfold. But my gaze just as quickly moves on to the other members of the party, inwardly staunching the turbulent sensations within. I could not allow them to overwhelm me and betray anything.

"Taviora welcomes your assistance, we are grateful you've come to our aide."

I narrow my eyes upon the ground, where only a short time ago Moth's son had lost his leg in the heinous assault.

"This is indeed the scene of the crime. Coza and I chased that piece of shi-- I mean Scat-- all the way to the border... that direction." I didn't bother veiling my pure hatred for the demon in my voice, but upon seeing the small pup in the group I managed somewhat to curb my cursing tongue. I nodded my head towards Tobias' escape route. "Later, I tracked him as far as the borders of Glorall, where I lost his scent near the river. I did not trespass to keep up the search, but if you like, I would accompany your party there, to see if any of the river wolves have seen him..."

It slipped out before I'd thought the idea through. It might not be the best thing for me to become part of the party hunting down Tobias if Devil was apart of it, but I'd already spoken and couldn't go back on my word now.

"I'd be more then happy to tear him a new asshole... though I hear most of you have good reason to do just the same."

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
