Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

A cold wind rustled through the trees, shaking off whatever leaves were left on their branches. There was something melancholy about seeing the trees with no leaves, after summer when the trees were so green and lush, the emptiness on the branches was almost unsettling. A tiny ghost walked beneath the trees, her paws crunching softly on the fallen leaves. Antoinette had been on her own for a while now, after a rival pack had disrupted the only life she'd ever known. The yearling was tiny to begin with, and that was only enunciated by the frailness that accompanied the lack of any type of survival skills. She had subsisted mainly off of scraps from old carcasses left behind by other predators, and it showed. The little wolf had gone a while without a meal now, one of the longest periods of no food that she had experienced since leaving home.

Antoinette was determined to survive, though. That's what her father would want. He was the one who had told her to run, far away so that the bad guys wouldn't get her. That had been months ago now. She didn't know what had become of her old pack, of her family and her friends. However she had been far more preoccupied with simply trying to survive. It was harder then the little maiden had expected. Somehow one doesn't realize just how hard 'living' was when they were cared for their entire young life. All of her needs had been tended to by the pack, due to the fact that she was daughter of the alpha. And at her age, her father hadn't thought to teach her any skills needed to survive out in the wild. And he especially hadn't expected such a large scale attack.

The cream and white yearling continued to walk through the forest, her mismatched eyes focused in front of her, petite ears pricked forwards. Though she had escaped from the major threat, the barbaric pack that had claimed her homeland, she was well aware that there were plenty of other bad guys out in the world to be afraid of... Whether they be other wolves or wild animals, she was really in no shape to fight much of anything. Except for perhaps a beetle or a blade of grass. Her teensy stature already made fighting quite difficult, and her fragility from sparse sustenance added to that all the more. Her cream-tipped tail flicked as she paused, glancing around at the almost-bare trees. Winter was well on it's way, and Antoinette that her situation would grow ever the more dire when the snow fell. Certainly her scavenging would turn up a lot less to eat when the weather grew colder and the days grew shorter.

Antoinette sighed, closing her eyes for a moment and turning her head up towards the wind, letting it blow through her silky fur. Would she die out here when the snow started to fall, all on her own? Hunting was far too hard, any small prey that she thought she might be able to attempt to kill scented her or heard her far before she could even approach them. Why was this so hard? The little French maiden wasn't hopeful of her chances to survive, but she would try the best that she could.
