aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Test My Will, Test My Heart

The silver femme approached her brother with a smile on her maw, laughing at his dirty form. Aindreas was usually so good about his appearance, keeping his pelt sleek and shiny. He really was a handsome brute with his contrasting blue orbs on his solid white form, and the mess he was in made her laugh. She was even more surprised by him when his usually emotionless and stoic face raised a brow, and she could only assume it was a reaction to her lack of physical affection. His blue orbs looked over his form, as if he did not know the mess his coat was in, and his face darkened. Without a word he stood and started walking away. Adara was getting used to this with her brother. The lack of verbal communication and emotionless mask he always had on was the norm for him she realized, and she knew that her more talkative and affectionate self would not change that. But really she could not blame her brother with what had happened to him, and guilt panged her once again. He paused his step for a moment to call over his shoulder to her, “I would rather not remain looking like this, I’m am going to wash. There is a river somewhere running through this terra that drains in Leisure Lake on the far side of Aurora Borealis. Coming?” She nodded, a smile still on her kissers, as she followed her brother.

Adara assumed that Aindreas knew where he was going. He walked briskly and with purpose and the silver fae followed along silently. Normally she would want to make small talk on a walk like this, but she knew that small talk was often uncomfortable for her brother, and she didn’t want to push him into conversation when he did not want to chat. It was not long before sounds of the stream that was within Aurora’s territory reached Adara’s audettes, and she knew they were not far now. Aindreas quickened his pace and she knew that he had heard the sounds as well and must be looking forward to washing his coat clean. The white male jumped into the water immediately when they arrived and after a moment’s hesitation Adara decided to follow. With a grin she jumped in as well, landing a few feet away from her brother, not wanting to accidently jump on top of him. She padded over to where he was rinsing himself off on the rocks at the bottom of the stream, treading water until he came back up for air. A grin was still plastered on her face. She splashed her brother, playfully shoving him in the water, as if she was a young pup again. The silver femme let out a laugh as she shoved her always emotionless and stoic brother, wondering if he had had anyone to play with like this when he had been a pup.

After a few moments in the water the pair went back to the land, dripping wet. Adara still had a smile upon her face when she stepped out of the stream, shaking out her thick silver pelt. Aindreas finally gave an explanation as to why his pelt had been so dirty when he stepped onto the dirt, “My den was dirty, it needed to be cleaned out.” The femme nodded in understanding as the brute shook his equally wet pelt out. She was surprised when her quiet brother continued the conversation since he was usually more comfortable in silence. “How…do you like our new pack?” She sat down after give her coat one more shake before responding, ”I’m not sure.” She answered honestly. There was nothing wrong with the pack that they had joined, she just didn’t know anyone in the pack besides Aindreas and she wanted it to feel like a home. ”It just doesn’t feel like home yet. I don’t know anyone besides you.” She gave him a smile as she continued, ”I guess I just need to meet some more wolves, make it feel more like home. Striker seems like a good leader though. What do you think?” She continued to stay sitting, wondering what her brother’s thoughts were on the subject.
