a pirate flag and an island girl

A mental fog had settled around the perlino mare, her thoughts felt as if they were bogged down. She had really made a mess of things, this is what she deserved. A slow and painful end, maybe a predator would finally find her, and finish the job. Swiveling pale ears, she finds only the sound of the tide, it almost comforting her. Reminding her of the island life that she had come from, there she had been somebody, the filly that everyone had wanted. Dropping her head to the sand she breathes in its earthy scent, she had missed the beach, its comforting embrace. A crashing in the trees above her jolt her from her foggy state, there was something coming through the woods. Her nerves begin to well inside of her chest, knowing that this could quite be the end of her.

Out of the forest shoots, a foal, relief floods Cae, but it was short lived. Shortly after his pissed off mother bolts from the trees, desperately throwing herself in between her offspring and Cae's downed form. Sand spits into her face, pinning her ears into her pale mane, she waits for a few tense moments... than she speaks. Attracting predators? Your forest? "I apologize for the inconvenience." Sarcasm drips from her words, Cae was usually not like this but the pain and stress had finally taken its toll. Before she could spit more words at the mare, a pale form appears...Lyden. Relief floods her as his lips touch her forehead, she had been waiting for him, for what seemed like an eternity.

"I tried to stand, it was successful but I decided I needed a rest." She tries to lighten the situation, but her gaze falls on her first resting place only a few strides back. She had not made if far, but maybe she could finally find her feet since Lyden was here... Crystalline eyes roll towards this Gandy, a tinge of jealousy nips at her heart, she was pretty. Her buckskin hide, glowing under the pale moonlight.

Cae reaches deep finding the strength that she needed to stand, yet again she tests each of her limbs. They each responded except for her front right fore, at the moment that was little concern to Cae. She just wanted to be on her own feet once again, heaving she digs into her energy reserves. Climbing carefully to her full hieght, she stands on her own... A smile traces her lips. "I think that I will make it, please lead the way." Hobbling a step forward, pain shoots through her leg, but she pushes it into the back of her head. Trembling with each step, sweat breaks out on her pale neck with the use of such effort. "I had to see you Lyden. I couldn't bare the thought of not seeing you one more time." She felt a bit awkward speaking like this in front of Gandy, but she had to let him know her feelings at this moment.
