The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

like unearthly spectors, two white shapes drifted through the trees. the sky was just awakening and the first fiery fingers of dawn slowly climbed their way through the inky blackness of night. this pair of spectral beings were silent as they made their way through the dark forest, and as they stepped into the fading moonlight, one turned turned towards the other. mother? where are we going? there was something related to humor in the sage portals of the female as she turned her marred visage towards her son. "home, my boy. we’re going home." and with that, the scarred fatale turned around and continued her brisk pace. the teen she had spoken to stared at his mother’s back for a long moment before he bounded forwards after her, his awkwardly long legs bringing him quickly to her side. they fell back to silence until the woman stopped and lifted her pale face to the sky. the boy stared at her, grey eyes confused as he watched her. mother, what are you doing? he asked finally. a smile curved the woman’s torn mouth upwards as she spoke. ”i’m thanking Tor for delivering us safely to Kershov’s borders.” he nodded slowly and was silent for a moment. who’s Kershov?” he asked finally and verity’s eyes glittered with hidden humor. ”you aren’t stupid, ame. if you wanted me to tell you the story again, all you had to do was ask. i won’t deny my children much, you know.” ame’s skin flushed under his pallid coat and he shuffled his large paws uncomfortably. ”while we walk, i’ll tell you the story.”

”i don’t know much about Kershov’s past, if anyone does it would be Enigma and i can’t recall a conversation with her. i do know, however, that he wasn’t born here. he was born, i believe, somewhere like i was born. deep in the frigid tundras of the north. if you’re lucky, ame, you’ll never have to deal with the brutality there.” seeing her son’s grimace, she laughed bitterly. ”trust me, ame, you wouldn’t want to go there. it’s a ruthless, vicious place. now, are you going to let me continue, or are you going to continue with your grimaces and faces?” seeing his nod, she continued to speak as they walked. ”very well. now, Kershov was an alpha there, if his manner of running the pack says anything. there was a war there, my father left for it when i was younger than you are now. my mother moved us after a rogue male came to the den, tried to kill us. well, not just kill us, but that’s a story for a different occasion. i believe that kershov participated in this war, i can’t tell you for sure, and that’s where he got his scars. i don’t know why kershov left the tundra, but he came to blossom. i don’t know about his early years here, i myself wasn’t here while he was settling in Abendrot. when i was young, not as young as you though, i came to blossom forest. i wandered for a long while, until i stumbled into a abendrot pack meeting.” she chuckled lowly to herself, remembering vividly how silly she had been back then and a feeling of nostalgia overcame her. she shook it away with a toss of her ivory skull.

”anywho, they took me in, i guess you could say. i tried being a soldier for a while, but that didn’t work out too well,” she paused with a chuckle and started to gradually slow down. ”so when Kershov introduced the healer rank, i dove in head first. i ended up being really good at what i did and at that time, there were, and still are, a lot of wolves who want to hurt Kershov. a group of them tricked me into leaving Abendrot and they knocked me out. they attacked me, gave me these scars, and left me…” she trailed off as they hit the border and the familiar musk of Abendrot and Kershov reached her nose. She lowered her head and inhaled the earthy scent that rose from the damp earth. ”right here.” seeing her son’s horrified look, she smiled kindly, shaking her head. ”don’t fret, my child. Kershov found me and cared for me. and, best of all, i got you in return.” she told the teen as he grimaced slightly. do we howl?” he asked and verity shook her head. ”no need. Kershov will know we’re here soon and come. a homecoming is something he finds very important...if it’s for the right reasons that is, and if you left on good terms, unlike vladya. be glad i didn’t leave like vladya did, ame. that’s a fate i wouldn’t dare subject anyone to, my dear. now,” she said as she lowered her haunches. ”we wait.”
