Solarius' confusion, and surprise, faded quickly, and his expression soon grew eager and open with friendliness as Morveren batted at his tail. Deciding after a few moments of internal debate that he liked the creature - whatever it was - he wiggled his tail even more, flicking it within her reach and back out as soon as she reached for it. His laugh, a loud rumbly sound, filled their little room and was soon matched by Danny's own. It took the boy a few minutes to get himself back under control, and he was still grinning like a goof when Thoth spoke about their conversation.

"You didn't see Dr. Gupta when I broke his the bottle he kept his rare specimen in," Danny said jokingly, giving a mock shudder. Despite his pretend fear, his expression had lightened a lot since he'd first arrived and he was looking, and acting, more like himself (or a worn out version of himself, at least). "I'm pretty sure he was tempted to put me in a bottle to replace it."

The temptation to experiment with Thoth's mold was quickly winning the battle over Danny's fear of upsetting - or even worse, disappointing - Dr. Gupta. After all, it wasn't like they were subjecting unwilling or unknowing patients to the stuff, and if it helped... It would be wonderful, and not only for Thoth but for others. It could be the medical breakthrough of the century, and he could be a small part of it! Before he could say anything, though, Thoth was explaining how to reach his lab. Danny already knew how to get there pretty well, having been there once before when General was injured, but he listened politely all the same. Trying to act nonchalant, Danny accepted the key from Thoth and was careful to note which one it was in case he dropped them or something equally clumsy. Inside, he was feeling... well, a little honored. Thoth was... sort of prickly, and he didn't seem to like or trust people very easily. The fact that he was handing Danny his keys, without even a lecture about not touching the rest of stuff, seemed pretty important; of course, some part of him suspected that most of that tentative trust came about out of Thoth's eagerness to try his mold.

Accepting the keys, Danny glanced up at the clock on the wall nearby. "Do you think we have time for me to grab it and get back before they think we're up to something? Or should I come back tomorrow?" he asked, biting his lip and sneaking a look at the nurse's station. "How do you take it, too? Anything I need to grab on the way back?"

Sol made a small pounce, not enough to dislodge Morveren but enough to give her a small ride. "I can be a lookout! I'm good at that!" he said cheerfully, now bouncing in a small circle while still mindful to keep her from sliding off.
