Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

He still stood at the edge of the tide, cold waters licking his toes though the ocean waters were still much warmer than that of the river. He was so curious to what it was like, to see that was, he heard it was beautiful, he knew beautiful sounds so surely it was amazing. Even standing at the beach the hypnotic waves of water was indeed relaxing, it wasn’t beautiful as the sound of rain on leaves, though admittedly that too could get noisy, but some sounds were just wonderful to hear and experience. He guessed it was the same with vision. However the approach of someone very small hardly escaped the black ears of the wolf. Haziel hears her, surely a her with that smell, and very young. The smell of pup still clinging to her coat though it was slightly faded, a yearling perhaps? He was fairly certain, that smell was unmistakable.

He doesn’t look at her, such a thing would be a pointless gesture and one that he often forgets is normal upon wolves that can see. Having never had any form of sight only darkness, not even the love of shadows, forever darkness lost in a world made up of strong smells and sounds. The girl’s voice was excited sounding, she moved up beside him flopping into the sand next to him an he gave her a little glance down his ears twitching lightly taking in all they could about her size and movements and letting his nose decipher the rest.

A shadow of a smile tinged his maw at the girl saying she thinks it comes from Spirane’s mountains. She is intelligent, or perhaps chirping off some piece of information her mother and father had taught her. Either way, ”That’s true, though the ocean water is warmer.” He places a paw into the water it was still cold by all means, rivers pouring into it obviously did little to help. ”It is so big, it heats up slower.” He says his voice not flat, but it was still relaxed, at ease. Children were not prone to judge as quickly or notice when something was ‘wrong’ with him. Perhaps she would learn much today about the world around her.

”I am Haziel. Who are you?” He looks towards her gaze taking on the approximate location of her face, blue pupiled eyes looking blindly around the small area he assumed her face was around. He was always relaxed, he liked making friends it was just hard sometimes for them to look past what he was.

and miles to go before i sleep.
haziel.
