Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Watch me fall above like a vicious dove

ISTAS

They don't see me coming, who can blame them?

Istas decided, and had decided he liked Renegade a lot. It wasn’t just the fact that he was handsome, easy on the eyes and such but he was just so mellow and nice. Under that rough exterior Istas could see it and he wanted to get to that soft interior that he could tell he didn’t like to expose to anyone. That day when he was Never he showed it, and even now with Istas being himself he was still seeing it. That accent helped with his attractiveness too, at least Istas thought so. Perhaps he would see more of that soft side today? Even as Istas? He hoped maybe so but he knew it wasn’t likely let alone probably possible. Well he would have to see, he questioned who exactly this wolf that Istas reminded him of was wondering if he was going to divulge such information to him. Hopefully he would, though it did occur to Istas that being a spy maybe Renegade wouldn’t trust him.

That didn’t seem to be the case though as the white and red brute began to say that the wolf was his partner and friend and well he didn’t know what else he stopped pausing for several seconds leaving the curly furred wolf on edge and wondering what he had meant. The way he said close friend left Istas to wonder just how close was ‘close’ and if he really meant something else that Istas was sure was just a hopeful figment of his imagination that maybe somehow Renegade was like him in some way. No way. No matter how much Istas had desired it in the past it just never worked that way.

They sounded close though, the look in the red eyes of the brute as he explained just how everything had been between them how they worked together and acted though it was different than how, he guessed, a friend, correction, a normal friend would act. The look in his eye the tone in his voice it was just… different. Istas couldn’t but his paw on it but he had seen lovers talk before about the other and he had seen friends. Perhaps they were not good enough but Istas was getting pretty good at picking out certain tones, facial expressions, and over all body language since he started this line of work.

The story didn’t end well though, but Istas didn’t expect it too seeing as the brute had said ‘used to know’. A frown set the ghostly male’s visage and his tail was held limp behind him. His… ‘partner’ was murdered? Didn’t he want revenge? Istas knew that to some degree he wished for Naberius’ killer to die… but he also trespassed, tried to kill the king. Could he really wish death on someone who was simply defending themselves? No he really couldn’t, but what about Renegade’s partner? Didn’t he deserve some kind of justice? Finally though Renegade gave the white wolf a chance to speak though and Istas couldn’t feel more sorry for the male.

”I’m… really sorry. I know how hard that can be, sort of, I have lost a close friend of mine too recently. But at least I knew who did it and why. I am just really sorry, Renegade” He says and he truly sounds it too. ”So he was, just a good friend?” He couldn’t help but ask, it was probably painful but if Istas reminded Renegade of the brute well he wanted to know more. ”Or, I mean I don’t mean to pry, but you… sort of showed something else.” He asked, it was part of him being a spy he guessed trying to pick clean all the details, but Istas too was immensely curious and just wondered if it really did happen to others and perhaps he wasn’t just a weird one.

””

They never seem to catch my eye but I never wondered why
