The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

LOST MY SOUL; open

Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand. I don't care, I'm still free; you can't take the sky from me. Take me out to the black, tell them I ain't comin' back. Burn the land and boil the sea; you can't take the sky from me. Leave the men where they lay, they'll never see another day. Lost my soul, lost my dream; you can't take the sky from me.

His jaws dripped with the blood of his prey, and he dragged the doe’s carcass back towards the darkness of the caves. She was a large doe, but lameness in her hoof had slowed her down just enough to make her a target of the mammoth wolf that now grasped her dead form by the throat. Only her hindquarters dragged on the ground as he easily made his way back towards the only place in these accursed lands that did not stir some strange reminiscence of a life he could not remember. His abandonment had turned him into a savage, pernicious sort. And as he used speech less and his teeth more to convey his intentions, he’d slowly lost all memories of his former life. He was Reaver, and that was all he cared to know.

To survive and thrive were his only real goals. And such tasks were easily accomplished when one was born so utterly massive in comparison to those that walked in your wake. His long, white legs carried him with long strides, immense jaws barely needing to tug at the carcass that he carried. Finally he ducked in through an unobvious entrance into the cave system, and after traversing through a few small tunnels, he dropped his meal onto the cavern floor. Barely hesitating, he moved from her mangled throat to her abdomen and tore into her lifeless form.

The heat of her stomach erupted in his face, and he was awash was blood once more. Burying his face inside of her, he tore at her innards. The doe’s insides poured out onto the floor of the dimly lit cave, and Reaver dug in further, almost his entire head delved into her body, all the way up to his ears. He feasted ravishingly, carnal growls rumbling forth from him as he devoured his dinner from the inside out. He cared not to look around him, only his ears giving him any hint if another dared to encroach upon his meal. For the majority of his life he had survived on his own, on the mere intimidation factor of his size. And when it came down to it, if someone did have the gall to challenge him, he could easily dispatch any wolf who dared to threaten him.
