Swallowbane’s tail wags as the woman greets him so warmly. A stranger, sure, but one of his sister’s pack. They had built quite the little family here, and it was a wonder how he could avoid being a part of it. Sure, there was family and then there was… something else. He was sorry. He really was. The young man with the dark feet wasn’t going to make himself known for too long… and for that he was sorry too. But that was the funny thing about Swallowbane, here and there, never for too long. It was a hard thing for him to stay for very long, and he wasn’t even the gypsy. Just a loner of sorts, but he could help. He would help. This was his place for now.

The wagging of his tail doesn’t stop as the woman approaches and begins talking, Bane nodding softly as she goes. “I’ve picked up some stuff, food and water, rest and lack of stress… Daeny said that we could go one of two ways: profuse bleeding from a mother or a newborn that’s refusing to nurse and breathe and… er, live.” Bane is a little awkward about it—recently whelped mothers are to be treated with the upmost care and concern. He’s here to help, but sometimes things can get a little weird. He is a boy after all. He’s willing to work through it, to get himself put together through the process of learning. Learning is important.
