At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

The call died and with it his last hope. There was no point in thinking Kahn was still alive. He clearly wasn't and no amount of wishing and hoping could make him be. It hurt to want something so bad, but never having it. Yet Ro didn't break down into the tears he so desperately wanted to. The best thing he could do was allow his mentor to live on in him. Yes, he would be like Kahn. All the softness and weakness that he had developed despite his uncle's teachings would have to go. The wolf he wanted to be was somewhere inside him, he'd just never been to unlock it. Perhaps know he had. From now on he would strong. He would have no hesitation the next time he fought his father. Tempest would have to understand. The dragon would not let the demon get away with the murder of his uncle.

Rodan gave himself a moment to compose himself. He closed his eyes and counted to three. Then he opened them and look into the water at his reflection. His eyes looked back at him, but gone was the spark they'd once held. They were cold and hard, like gems, and piercing. The rest of his face had hardened as well. It was stoic. It was strong. Like Kahn. His attention was drawn away by the approach of footsteps. He turned his head sharply. Dany. He hadn't spoken to her very often. The femme had broken her leg during the hunt, he remembered that. The memory sent a wave of emotion into his face, much to his displeasure, and a sadness washed over his features. He would have to work on that.

The dragoness walked over hurriedly. "Rodan, are you alright?" He Nodded his head yes, but his face told otherwise, and he found misled shaking his head no. The ess went to embrace him and he instantly stiffeneed. "It's alright Rodan, talk to me."

The boy felt strange. He usually hated touch from anyone, even Kahn. But this was not so bad. Dany curled her head and neck around him, bringing closer. Ro found himself leaning into her. He felt safe. He felt comforted. He felt like he belonged. Even Kahn, who had hated contact, was more relaxed than he was. The older brute had always said it was because Ro had lacked a mother's touch from a young age and his father's was only given in beatings. Dany triggered the little pup in him, the grainy, almost nonexistent memory of his mother. And his whole mask slipped. Maybe the embodiment of Kahn would have to wait. Silent sobs wracked his body. He'd promised himself he wouldn't cry. He stayed like that for a moment, letting it all out.

The ivory beast pulled away from the femme as soon as his tears stopped. He breathed deeply, regaining the emotionless expression, or at least trying to. "Kahn is dead." His voice didn't waver. There was a certain peace that came over him when he said it. Then the fear crept back into him at the realization of what he'd said. "Kahn is dead and I don't know what to do." Panic. "I don't know what to do!"

Ooc: yup, he is :)
