Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

the only way to get rid of
temptation is to yield to it
Did Najira think she was the sneakiest thing in all the land? Belhara was not to be fooled. Well, she was in a nice, deep sleep, but she did have the habit of hogging all the space and cuddling with her littermate. It was not hard to feel her sister move, and to notice the lack of warmth with a few moments of her disappearance. She stirred, her black and red legs stretching out to feel for her sister only to come up with nothing. Her blue eyes lazily opened from their black depths, and a yawn exposed her sharp puppy teeth. She lifted her head with a single tooth still popping out of her lip, ears perked as she heard a fading rustle outside.

It took only a moment for her to realize her sister had run off early this morning. Well, Belhara was having none of that. Curiosity drove her to move, although slowly and cautiously, out of the den. Once she was comfortably free from the worry of mother spotting them, she dashed off, allowing her nose and ears to follow her sister to...well, wherever she was going, Belhara hardly cared.

The landscape did indeed change as she followed her sister's scent. It was difficult not to be distracted by the insects or to stare at the beauty of morning dew. She may take a moment here and there to look at some grass or a funny shaped flower, but mostly, she was hot on the trail.

Once the landscape was no longer bog, she had an instinctual feeling to be more aware. Her black ears were perked high as well as her head, and her eyes were like lasers. She stuck on the slightest movements, analyzing them for threats. It did take her longer to reach her sister than she pleased, but she could not turn off her need to be aware and have all her wits. She continues on, the blackness of her fur seeming to absorb all the morning rays while the red seems to light up like wildfire. Her attention snapped to something larger up ahead, in the direction of her sister's scent.

She felt a sudden jolt forward in her black paws. She arrived to hear the older wolf's words, and Belhara did not hesitate to look the larger female over as she confidently came around to her sister's side. Her face with thin and sharp, her look naturally intimidating and fierce. Her blackened hackles were puffed a bit- to show her size, of course!

"I am her guardian. And who are you, where is your guardian? Maybe you are not normal, hm?" she snapped, a testiness in her voice as she stared down the older female. It was instinctual in a way. She felt the need to be there for her sister, to ensure their power together would fight off the stranger if needed. She stood tall, her form slender as she watched the older and significantly larger wolf. She was not as their parents were, and not like the other she had seen in Iromar. She was an outsider to Belhara- and not to be trusted.
