Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Grayson
Fight your foes you’re on your own;
Holy war is on the phone;
The bleeding loss of blood runs cold.

It took the better part of being tortured over the summer to get him where he was now.

He was looking better, even hunting for himself, even if the prey was a bit strange around here, his ribs no longer showing but the firm muscle that he had from living on Spirane had ebbed away with his weakness. It would be some time before he got that back, but he guessed he had to count his blessings. Grayson was living a new life, no one knew him or where he was from nor, thankfully, did his little pestilent healer, Ravenna, pry. He knew she was dying to know what happened to him in the past, but she could only be so snappish at him before he could roll his shoulders and ignore her. She was really the only wolf she knew in Glorall currently, which was fine by him for now. He was getting used to her antics, really it wasn’t hard for some reason. He could tell perhaps she was used to being able to get her way and while that was fine when he was sick and healing now he was better.

Grayson figured today was a good day to explore on his own, for how long on his own it didn’t really matter. He went towards the beach that for many days in his early recovery was the bane of his existence. He could still feel the prickle and burning of his skin just looking at that salty water. The Ocean Ravenna had called it. He never had seen it before that day, had no idea water that made you sick to your stomach to drink and burned your wounds while cleaning them existed. The island had been on his sights the whole while though. Why? He wasn’t sure to be honest, just going there seemed to bring something to him. He was sure he was over thinking it. If he went there though he would be even less likely to be found, but what about water? Food? Did that even exist on the island? His dream probably was impossible.

The brackish smell that surrounded the lands was so strong, he would never get used to it, and the closer he got to the ocean side the stronger the scent got. He was sure to many that found this place home might find it comforting, much like the smell of snow on the mountain peaks of Spirane for him, but those days were gone… he didn’t think he could go back even if he wanted too. His tail flicked lightly white paws finally finding themselves at the shore the warm waters touching his toes despite the edge of cold that fall was threatening them with. Fall… it seemed like this year had passed so fast, it was Fall that Natu promised she wouldn’t leave him then she got pregnant that Winter and then… left him. His ears fell back before he shook his head orange eyes finding that little speck in the distance that was the island.

Should he try today? What did he have to lose? Nothing really. For the moment though he was simply content to stare and watch the water wondering if his rather boorish healer would turn up anytime soon. She always had a way of crashing his tranquility.
