Impending Winter pushed Iscariot's needs of a pack forward more than he'd like, because he did not wish to run headlong into one without first knowing what kind of place it would be, if it offered him what he needed. It was quite simple, really. He wanted to be able to rise in ranks and prove himself. Learn all that he could about where he was living -- the place as a whole as well as whichever pack won him over -- and anything else that might prove to be useful information. Most information was found to be useful in one sense or another for vast reasons, and thus Riot was prone to soak it all up when and where he could. It proved to be no different as he started out to learn more of the packs.
This one, for now, had caught his attention. It was newly taken the rumors said, and that made him all the more curious. Newly formed packs often had more space for others to gain rank through work, and Riot needed those openings. Needed to know that the place wasn't so firmly set on others being in a spot that he could not gain a rank through anything. There had been a mass of such packs observed in the past, and Riot had no time for those. If it wasn't about getting things done and earning a place, then there was no security in the pack itself. Riot would not join a crumbling or rusting pack. There was no logic in that, and to get somewhere, he had to make good choices.
The borders were up ahead, his nose detecting the switch, the mingling and covering of old for new. Not far from where he was, there were two others. Females, and one smelled of the new covering of markers for the border; she must then be the alpha. The other one did not smell of a pack, exactly, and this is where Riot figured he should step in. Because if this was a little possible joining group, then he wanted to soak up the information given. He catches a little of what is being said as he moves, and when he is close enough, he sends a dip of his head to both wolves. The one female wanted a home, but did not appear to want to make it a real home. That was curious to him.
Would it not have been better to band with the gypsies for the Winter and break off after? Loners and wanderers seemed to do that with considerable ease, not needing to make further connections. Iscariot wanted more than that, wanted something more stable for himself. "Greetings;" He began to both. "I hope I am not interrupting, but I hope to learn more about this pack and what is required and offered to it's members." The words were polite enough and to the point. He was curious but not set upon anything yet. He needed to know more to make a proper choice. Now to see what would be said, and learn more about these two females as well.
