The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

She is too young to even consider the implications of winter, too self absorbed in her loneliness and that fury that seems a driving factor in her life. It was in a time such as this that Snowshoe had felt the weight of Kaius bear down on her. Maybe in another lifetime Cinder would forgive her mother for leaving her. Perhaps Snowshoe had been disgusted at the children she had born, a product of something she had never wanted and had felt only pain in the midst of. Yet how would Cinder know this? The female had left without much being said nor a backward glance and she had been stuck becoming an adult way too early in her life. It is among the reasons she is so torn now, standing on the bluffs of the grotto and seeing the twinkle of the sea but unable to be lured by its call. She had responsibility.

For a moment she watches him, her hackles smoothing back down into her fur, to note the careless shrug her offers her. See, she thinks, not even this stranger could be bothered to care. Deep down she had been hoping for something, some miracle, but Iscariot cannot offer her such. It was foolish for her to even consider such and she grinds her teeth slightly in agitation, tail whipping back and forth in a cat-like manner before asking about Glorall. Home, it was home even with a new ruler, and she wanted to go back. Maybe she could talk Myra into wanting to return and yet she worries that they will kill her sister who cannot hear.

Her ears prick towards him as she hangs on each word before her haunches press into the ground, her reaction instinctive in her desire to know and forgetting her surroundings. "I used to live there." The words tumble out of her mouth before she can stop them, ears folding back slightly and out. "Until the new King took over. Had to go to Spirane with my sister, you see, because she can't hear and I can't trust that they will look kindly on it." And there again is a note of bitterness, both at her sister for her disability and for the King she does not know simply because she doesn't know!

"I'm Cinder, by the way."
