Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

Taytim

Taytim had been thinking about a few of the comments Rodrigo had made, enjoying their companionable silence at times to allow her to think and come to a conclusion about what she really felt about the world she was clearly still learning. Though she was perfectly happy at the crest of the peak they had found, she could tell that Rodrigo was on alert, as he had been on and off during their travels. She knew he would let her know if there was something to be concerned about. In the mean time, her ears twitched and flicked around, taking in whatever they could of this new surrounding.

Another horse came upon them, and Taytim’s ears perked at her in interest. She was friendly enough, greeting them as friends. Taytim opened her mouth to speak, but the other mare continued her words in that charming voice. The young one closed her mouth again and one ear flicked back as she watched the other mare interact with Rodrigo, almost as if she was not there. She could feel the tension coming from her companion, which was only confirmed when he shifted to stand between them. When they had first agreed to travel together, Taytim promised she would run when Rodrigo told her to run, no questions asked. As much as she would have been sad to leave this curious place so early, she would follow if he felt they were in danger.

The two continued to speak, Rodrigo’s words triggered a thought in the mare. If the buckskin was not from here, she had been putting on a show.”Kind of weird to invite someone into someone else’s home.” Taytim muttered, uncaring of whether or not Ysabella heard her or not. “Rude, even, if you ask me.” Under most circumstances, Taytim would have been for more polite to someone who might have been a new friend. In this case, the way her actual friend had treated the stranger tipped her off to ulterior motives. She refused to assume anything bad about the other mare, but she was on guard, a state of being she was not very used to. Not in the slightest.
