The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

male | seven | tied to striker | cobryn x enigma

Somewhere in the back of his mind he knew he should have given pause to truly process all that was happening, all that he had learned and what it really meant. He should have given himself time to grieve, should have allowed Tristan time to realize it all as well. But Solitaire wasn't thinking it all through correctly. He only knew right now that someone had killed and eaten their father and that was the reason that they hadn't grown up knowing him. That it had been stolen from them by this wolf. There had been so many rumors around why Cobryn hadn't been there, how he might have died, but this.. Solitaire could not have fathomed this as being what had really happened. Not when it was in front of him in these moments.

Tristan had questions and Solitaire should have been able to answer them better. Should have stopped to talk it over, and yet he wasn't able to see through the destructive haze that was building. The anger had risen almost out of nowhere to overtake him, and he couldn't calm himself from that. He was in a jumble, all those thoughts mixing and melding and telling him he needed to do something. Urging him on. He couldn't lose this chance to get even when he knew he still wanted to avenge mother when he had found out what had happened to her. Now that he had that very chance to go after the one who had killed his father.. he had to take it. There was no way around it. The mere idea of it having happened made it harder for Solitaire to breathe.

He cannot even hear Tristan calling him. It's like there was a nagging in the back of his mind but the words or meanings don't get through. White noise in the back of his mind and he just keeps moving forward, feeling the fury as it takes him over. It was a consuming thing, his need to end the wolf, end the threat. Solitaire was under duress by his own mind, and this was the result. Him forgetting all else as he launched himself at his father's killer, rejoicing in the feeling of the flesh of the brindled male's hip between his teeth and pulling at it, wanting to rip it away. Yet it was when Tristan spoke this time that had Solitaire's attention directed to his brother in worry. A mistake that ended up with the spot above his shoulder being grabbed by the brindled wolf.

Solitaire was being pulled down by the brindled male as said male wobbled from the impact of Tristan, and when he was finally released, Solitaire saw Tristan latch onto the brindled male's neck and shake, saw the way things were progressing and jumped back into the fray, jaws aiming to snap at the brindled male's hindleg in order to do his best to crush the bone there. He kept at it, trying to gain a hold and shake his head, crunch his jaws down on that bone. He wanted the brindled wolf to suffer, wanted to make the male lose focus on Tristan so his brother could get away from any attacks and make ones of his own. Solitaire wanted to end this here and now, and he wasn't going to let this brindled wolf get away.
