help me build my form book box!
IP: 2.30.212.123

so next year at school i'm going to be a form tutor of a lovely year 8 form!

one of the things i've noticed this year is the number of kids who are reluctant to read. we all know the benefits of reading, as rpers. so i've decided my focus for my form is that we're going to be a form in which everyone reads for pleasure. at least once a week, we're going to have 20 minutes silent reading in form time.

all the kids are meant to have a reading book, but plenty don't. so, i've decided i'm going to have a "form book box" in my room, so kids without reading book can just come and borrow one during form time. over the summer, i'm going to buy books to go into the book box, and i'm looking for suggestions from you lovely people for what to purchase!

requirements:
1. must be suitable for 12-13 year olds (no fifty shades, merlin). bear in mind also that the type of 12-13 year olds who are reluctant to read will probably have the reading age of a 7 year-old, potentially younger, so i will need some books suitable for 7-8 year old readers.
2. must be cheap to buy. i need a whole crapton of these, so the books have gotta be no more than a couple of quid tops each. ideally looking for books where there's crapton in circulation (e.g. harry potter) or which are now quite old.
3. must be a page turner from page one! my goal is to get the kids to read the first sentence and be hooked.
4. does not have to be fiction! horrible histories, guinness book of records, i don't care - just get them reading!

roll out the suggestions, pls!
