The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

In my dreams I scream your name...

I must find him, my mind is constantly churning with the what ifs of life. What if he is laying dead in the caves somewhere and I have yet to see him because I never get out of Diveen? I have become something of a recluse, confiding my schemes only in Lacuna, and leaving the rest to grow and to play as they will. Widow and Gehenna have gone off to play, and my three youngest are sleeping in my den under the watchful eyes of Lacuna. I have latched onto her like a newborn to a teat in the absence of the shadow I adore.

It is this that leads me to the caves. This singular beast lures me from my den in Diveen to come down to where all of this started. I have not been back to this place since I came here to collect my two little girls and the shadow prince to take them to the plains. The memory hurts, and I let out a soft worried whimper.

I can't be a monster all the time, can I?

It is not long before I come upon one of the throngs this place seems to be famous for. I stop, simply watching them interact as I always have. What is the instinct that drives these wolves together like this? Maybe that imprinting thing? Could I find my soul and finally rid myself of that weakness? I suppose I could be just a little monstrous, it has been a while. I move forward until I spy a wolf I remember clearly, white ears lace back over my skull and I watch Avery as she nods in the direction of another wolf.

I do not want to be seen by this wolf, I have things to do and I will not be carted off to Iromar again nor will I be slain before I can rid myself of that nasty imprint!
