Whimsy stared at Calvin in absolute horror. Why the hell would anyone do that? To desex a creature was unnatural in her opinion. She was very glad she had never been domestic now. Not that hummingbirds were commonly domestic. She took a long sip of juice, wishing for the first time that night it was alcoholic. "Oh, Calvin. I'm sorry, I didn't know." She whispers it so as not to draw more attention. Of course male fairies did not have voices that high. She just had not realized. Her norms were not as adjusted as she liked to pretend they were, and she was now blushing a deep shade of crimson.

Perhaps Whimsy just did not pay attention to things like gossip and comments. Maybe that is why she had missed it. Her naivete could definitely cost her a bit of embarassment and shame this time! Maybe it could be reversed, now that he was within Shaman... but she was not going to suggest that right now. It was not the time or place. Peets probably had better empathy for her owner, as Whimsy was still trying to wrap her head around what humans willingly chose to do to other creatures...

She dropped the subject when offered the chance. "Yes, I really think you will enjoy it. It is not really work." That was not quite true. It was work, it just did not feel as much like work if you liked the subject. "And the Professors are very nice." She did not add that they would probably delight in his voice, no matter how he came by it, and probably would be much more tactful than her. "Sure," she said finishing the last of her drink and rising to her feet "I'd love to go for a walk." The nights were almost balmy, and very pleasant with the floating orbs, and general feeling of peace that prevailed at the moment. She did not harp at him anymore for the beer he had already drunk nor the beer he had brought with him outside. She pretended it was not there.

She looks at him, not doubting he has already chased the orbs of light. "Not really. One touched me once. But I have no powers, so it is not as if I am looking for one." Not that that was the only reason to go after one. But the minor blessings bestowed by them, she generally had in her life already. She was healthy, usually happy, well looked after, and generally everything was good. Whimsy linked her arm with Calvin's, glad he was fairly short so it was not a struggle to keep up with him. "What does Peets think of them?" she asks, hiding a snigger. When they first appeared Peets had probably thought of them as a dangerous alien invasion or something and tried to run away. But maybe not. There was nothing ominous about the remnants at all. Quite the opposite.
