It seems the wolf notices my reaction to her, that I am not an immediate friend to come to. Her eyes move away but my own goldens do not. They must stay upon her to ensure no lingering threat as her ears do fall upon her skull. The stranger stepped back slowly, and as she does so, my own midnight blades upon my ruff begin to lower in reaction. I keep my throat covered as I continue to watch her, until she was far enough away to where I felt safe and she would not try to seize my neck, even with good looking intentions.
My words do not fall on deaf ears, but they fall upon stifled lips. She does not speak a reply to me even though my ears fling forward to hear her soft whimpers. My head lifts slightly as I lower my black tail a few inches. My golden orbs flash to the wag of her tail and invitation for a sniff. I blink a few times in my frozen state as the wolf does not reply verbally to me, but simply with her body. I find it odd that she does not reply to me with words, her voice works this I can tell, but I do not know what might be wrong with her. Perhaps she is weakened in the mind, or perhaps not.
All I can say is that there is something deep within my confused and numb body that understands her. Obsidian and Ruby might wish me to investigate further for weakness, but what is wolf within me slowly clamps onto my mind. Some would say that I am broken now, but a shred of what I used to be as I forever feel the missing pieces of my soul. And yet, my fur goes smooth and my eyes grow bright. I still hold a slight twitch to my eyes and facial features, but my dark muzzle pushes out slightly to sniff her. She is older than me, and her scent is not from around here.
My black paws move forward in a few quick steps, my approach lacking any of the aggression of before, but it was still riddled with protection of my own form whilst still portraying curiosity. I come only a foot or some from her before I stop on my long legs, my form noticeably thin by nature. I tilt my head as my golden orbs drill into her own if she will dare look at my red-touched face.
"You stand without words, hm? No words, no words, then you have no name?" I asked, eyes narrowing slightly simply to focus in on the details of her face. "Do you have thoughts? Voices in your head? Or is that silent too?" I ask, my voice always quick like a rabbit running away from a hungry predator. My eyes blink hard with my developed nervous twitch, trying to read her face as a voice of her own begins to whisper in my head...or is it? Sometimes, I wish my mind would go silent, but it is always going, Ruby and Obsidian always whispering and my own thoughts trying to claw through. Silence, is a thing I am most...jealous of. |
