As she had patched him up, he had growled at her, but he had managed to maintain his oral manners and not snap at her... that is until she had reduced his dislocated joint. His teeth had instinctually searched for her in response to the pain, and though she jumped back he grazed her shoulder that stood closer to him, ripping away both fur and skin. Macaria bit her lip, cutting off the cry that sought to rip itself from her maw, and quickly turned away, not wanting to show the brute that she was injured due to him. Healers were supposed to be selfless, and their patients were always in pain. It had been her fault for not moving away quick enough, his response should have been something she had expected. Quickly, she introduced herself and offered to help him get back to Abendrot.
For some reason, long moments passed before he responded, his pools studying her in a way that made her uncomfortable, her form shifting under his steady gaze. Finally, his vocals broke the silence, and she exhaled, realizing that she had been holding her breath. Alright, let’s head out then. Macaria knew that in his current state he would be able to cause too much of a raucous, but she still wanted him to be within the terra for as short of a time as possible. Abendrot was not... one of the more liked packs here. They had a testy and thinly held together relationship that had been formed when her mother had gone into labor on their borders and demanded her brother's fealty, promising Kershov's own offspring in return. However, the striped ess had since disappeared, but with Moth's death, the matter had not been questioned or even pursued.
With his wound, the going was slow. He leaned against her slightly to prevent putting extra weight on his freshly relocated limb and she occasionally glanced down at her own shoulder. The wound was superficial and had already clotted, but it was sore and swollen, as most of the nerve endings were superficial anyway. As they went, she sighed, her young mind upset that she would have a scar marring her coat. Though she had earlier reprimanded the previous prince of Saw Tooth, Marcus, for preening himself for hours... but in her mind this was different. This was a scar she would wear for the rest of her life. But her self-centered moment was interrupted by his vocals once again. So do you have family in Saw Tooth? Or are you more on your own? He paused before continuing and she looked at him sharply, confused as to why he wanted to know about her, but when he revealed information about himself she was only too willing to reciprocate. I lost my family when I was much young. I was on my own for a while before I found Abendrot.
A soft whine fell from her maw and she softened her gaze. "I'm sorry about your family. You have one of my siblings in Abendrot. Aside from that I have one other sibling but he isn't around much. And then there is my father and Channing, and my auntie Kahlan. I spend a lot of time with Dad and Auntie... she is the one who is teaching me." A brief moment of pride echoed in her words - Kahlan was a well known healer in Blossom Forest and was thankful to both be related to her and to be her student.
Suddenly, Macaria stopped short, nearly tripping over her paws as her nares flared, taking in the sharp stench of the Abendrot boundary. Had they been walking for so long that they were already here? She moved away gently, smiling at him. "Okay, well I hope you feel better, sir. I'm going to head home now..."
