Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

As with my sister, I have been growing a lot too in the days since our birthing. As my sister grows fair, I grow more rugged, though I wouldn't say there's anything graceful about either of us in our gangly legs and overly large paws. I trip over mine every chance I get, though I refuse to cry out when I feel pain. It just feels too beneath me or something. I sit meekly for my mother, the only one beside my father I deem worthy of respecting at this point. I wag my tail dutifully and smile as she speaks to us, telling us not to venture away from the den. My eyes are that of angelic innocence, reassuring her that we won't do anything of the sort though if I could cross my tail behind my back, it would be doing that right now. She licks my forehead and I close my eyes, making a chuffing noise in my throat of pleasure at her affection even as I offer a timid nuzzle to the bottom of her chin before she leaves.

Of course the moment my mother is gone, Samia is running up to the entrance of the den and I'm right on her heels, my own eyes bright and ready to take in further surroundings than just those outside the den. I want to see the WORLD. I stop beside her, blinking in the bright sunlight until my eyes adjust. My tail is still wagging, this time in excitement as I turn to her. "So what do you want to do first?" There's a sly look to my eyes, a promise that we're definitely going to do something we'll get in trouble for later. But it'll totally be worth it. She has her tail tucked but I feel no fear as I look out of the den, only eagerness to begin exploring. Even as Samia moves out from the den, I grin and crouch, stalking her for two strides before I pounce with a powerful launch toward her, ready to tackle her to the ground to instigate some play. Maybe that'll loosen her up and get her to forget the rules for a change.

I've never noticed anything different about my sister. Of course I've only ever seen my parents and my sister to date so I don't know that a floppy ear is all that abnormal. Sure, she's the only wolf in the den that has that but maybe it's just a growing spurt or something. Maybe her ear will straighten out on its own. As we move further out, she sees a butterfly and I sigh, already knowing that she'll be wanting to chase it. What is it with girls and butterflies? I see nothing so exciting about the weird bug. I've stomped them beneath my paws in the den much to my sister and mother's dismay. What? They're just bugs, or so I've tried to explain. "Come on, Samia, let's go do something!" I say in almost a whiny tone as I take a few steps further from the den and look back at her over my shoulder, my tail wagging back and forth in a daring fashion as I give her my characteristic grin.
