She did not sleep. She could not sleep. Tonight after she birthed their children they were challenged by a female that had once claimed the pack as her own. She was a weak Alpha. The pack size was small and pathetic. Jaidah’s presence was low and her scent was already fading fast from the plains. Tick Tock could not tolerate weakness and as such she felt the need to eliminate it while taking the pack for her own. It was Tobias’s ability to not hate her that stirred the she-wolf into thinking that perhaps she could be among their species. She could not be a follower. She was a dominate creature my instinct and by blood she was the child of Alphas and was meant to lead. After the painful labor of bringing their children into this world she was unable to answer Jaidah’s call. As Alpha she was sworn to protect all that called the fields their home and she would not let them down, not without a fight, but she was too weak to even step out of the cave. Tobias had gone for her. Tobias had gone to fight Jaidah and keep their haven intact. With her presence in the fields they had grown in numbers, slowly, but they had strong members now. They already had their first successful hunt and it wouldn’t be long until they had another one, to celebrate the lives of Nevermore and Gunsynd, but also to celebrate Tobias victory. Jaidah did not understand how to keep a pack strong nor did she have the ability to even do such a thing. She had done it and it wouldn’t be long until they were the pack everyone wouldn’t mess with. Already the other packs were anxious about them, were worried, and she would allow this sense of paranoia to fester while she and the rest of her pack would live in peace within the haven of the fields.
It was his horrific roar that caused her dial to lift upwards as her thick ebony tail slammed the ground in an excited manner. All throughout the night she felt her imprint be attacked. Feeling him in pain brought anguish to her very soul, to know that her other half was being attacked, frustrated her greatly. Throughout the night she struggled to keep herself within the cave wishing to go out and help him destroy the green-eyed she-wolf. Yet she could do no such thing her very own body would fail her. Nakato had remained with her throughout the night using her body as a support for her weight and another warm body to be close to as she laid there concerned for the keeper of her soul. She was pleased to hear his roar of victory. The pups began to stir as they heard their Father scream of his conquest. It is a fitting thing that their children would hear the cries not only of battle, but of victory. As Tobias came closer and closer to their home she could feel the pull between tug her to come to him. Slowly she lifted to her paws moving slowly over the pups as they coiled around one another to make up for the loss of warmth. Standing in the doorway she found her companion bleeding from his wound that was underneath him heated snarls rumbled within her chest as she looked over at the wound displeased. That Jaidah had wanted to tear a male’s pride away was low and deceitful. She had done no such thing to Reaver, but then again, she was an honorable wolf – and Jaidah was not.
“Tobias...”
Harshly his name was whispered as she gently she would press her head into his own as she began to lick the side of his face, cleaning up the superficial scar. Her shoulder would press into his shoulder as low growls rumbled within her chest, the tune pleasing, thankful to have him return to her. Neither one held any sort of lovey dovey bone in their body, but there was respect and desire between the two that constantly made them want to be near one another. She would circle around her companion, gently herding him inside their cave, wishing him to be even closer to her as they would celebrate his accomplishment with much well deserved rest and sleep. The pups were forgotten as she began to use her blunt claws to scrape the ground in a more comfort manner near the pups allowing Tobias to lay down, which would for the time being provide Nakato a place to work, and a place for her to lay beside her companion with the pups at her side again. Should Tobias refuse to lay she would purposely press her muzzle into his shoulder and slide it along his neck tugging on his fur as one paw reached his hindquarters gently pushing him to the ground. Once he would reach it she would quickly lie down next to him, so that he would not think she was dominating him, as she began to work on his chest. Gruffly she would whisper to Nakato giving the girl the green light to proceed with whatever needed to be done.
“Nakato you will have to drug him. It needs to be something he cannot detect, but something he can eat.”
