He didn't seem to approach with any particular caution - in fact, he seemed almost cheery about it. His demeanor hadn't been one she had expected from a pack with Tobias as its head and so, it had initially caught her off guard. Still, she remained passive, unwilling to move though she sat upright at his approach. It was just polite (she figured she ought to try to be that, at least, if anything) and she had no reason to distrust him. His words had confirmed it, an air of pleasantry within them that made her lip twitch up in an amused grin. Then - the clincher. It made her brow twitch up: he had been a wolf of Spirane, then? Pan was, after all, Daenerys' advisers and Niviaq had been healing in Spirane for as long as Malina could remember. It made sense now that she looked at him: a little stocky, on the smaller side of height, his fur with that same golden luster. He had seemingly avoided whatever gene had made Pan so... haughty, though.
"I'm not sure, really," she shrugged, eyeing off the vastness of the pack behind him, "I don't really belong where I am right now, I think, but I'm not sure if this is where I belong either."
She had never really felt bad lying. At least, she had never felt bad lying to most wolves and it was a half truth anyway; she made that known as she slipped in another tidbit of info, her head suddenly tilted and brows furrowed in thought. "Maybe you could help me with working that out?"
She had intended to start her questioning soon after, unashamed to pick up the act of some obtuse underling and yet, a dark form had appeared almost suddenly beneath the male. She had not noticed the child at first, too preoccupied watching her prior company and yet, the child's question had brought it to her attention. Slowly, her eyes drifted down to her, her white ear flicking in response to being addressed.
"I'm borrowing it," she jested, raising her brows and cracking an almost playful half grin (something she had to learn thanks to her own children, you see). "All the better to hear you with, don't you think?"
Of course, she had no intention on letting the child get in the way of learning about Asteraia. If anything, she (her scent now obvious so close) had provided a new opportunity. Still, part of her flexed the idea of simply snuffing the child out while she still could. She had to assume, logically, that the child was born of the Alphas to have such confidence - and because of the scent. Sickly with the implication of Tobias. Of course, there'd always be room for error on such a judgement and yet... she had to wonder if it'd be worth it. But, did she hate everything about Tobias that much? To instantly condemn a child? No, she had to remember Heyel then. Watch them. Learn. It had been the same with Aaliyah's children. And so, for now, she was happy to humor the child.
She flashed a grin to the child once more before her eyes flickered back to Galileo, curious now to begin her learning.
