The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Where better to find a potential recruit for Asteraia than the darkest place in Moladian? It's no secret that the darker souls of Moladian tend to gather here and the softer ones that end up finding themselves here...well, they usually end up on the bad side of any interaction. And that just might be what happens today because while I'm hunting for a potential pack mate, I might as well hunt for myself as well. I was taught by the best so I know how to hunt my own kind just as well as anything else on the menu and I'm bored so it's a good way to waste some time.

I let my dark russet form blend into the shadows as I work my way around the grotto, moving through the maze of tunnels until I come across a fresh trail. Once I figure out which way they went, it takes no time to maneuver quietly down the tunnels until I reach a lighted clearing. The ceiling looks like a starlit sky with all the tiny holes punched out that let in sunlight. There's a small pool of water here and a wolf happens to be sitting right in front it. I can't tell if they're facing the pool of water that stands between us or the opposite wall but I'm not stepping out of the darkness just yet to find out.

I know that I'm downwind for now so they don't smell or see me unless they catch the glint of my midnight blue eyes. Until then I plan to check it out more, see if this is prey worth catching or if I'm just wasting my time. I do like a challenge, after all.
