Nakato
nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky |
With the first impressions out of the way, Nakato found herself liking the younger wolfess. A gift she had earned over many years of training told her the color of the newcomer’s soul, or her aura. With a gentle blink of her eye and a bit of focus, the druid was able to see the bright, lemon yellow encasing the creature. This brought a smile to her face as her own color was yellow, though hers was more of a pale yellow, as a sign of her age and wisdom. It told the druid that the girl was bright and caring, but she had recently suffered a great loss. Her heart ached for the girl, though she did not say anything. It was none of her business and she was never one to judge or assume anything from another. It was this nature that made her work so well with the murderers and cannibals of Asteraia. After welcoming the girl to the plains, they walked side by side back to the den. Things were quite, but not awkwardly so (at least not for Nakato). Though snow covered the ground in a thick layer, the animals of the plains kept the land alive with sights and sounds. Birds that didn’t mind the cold flew overhead and landed on what few trees Asteraia had. Bison grazed warily as the wolves passed, noting that they were not hunting but still cautious. Their grunts told the beasts to stay away from the herd, but were otherwise ignored. Soon, they came upon Nakato’s den, which sat several feet away from the Tick Tock’s lair. It was the only den allowed to be so close to the alpha. The bob-tailed girl took her charge the long way around, as to avoid the leader’s den, and finally welcomed her to her home. Herbs were scattered about in a cluttered mess that only Nakato seemed to understand. A small nest lay in the back but the place was otherwise full of plants. ”I have tried to gather as many herbs as I could before the cold set in. The Monster was also recently in battle so I had to gather what I could to mend her wounds. Please, forgive the mess. I have to admit, having so many plants here has made the space a lot warmer” she said with a light chuckle. The grey girl moved to allow her guest to sit further in the den, to allow her the most warmth, and then turned her bright eyes on her. ”You said before that you already knew about most of the plants here, correct? Did you live here before? Tell me, which of these herbs do you recognize? Any that you do not? I must say, the plains do not offer much shade so the plants here thrive mostly on sunshine. What are the plants like in your pack? Do they differ in potency?” There were so many questions and it was so refreshing to finally speak with another wolf who understood the healing arts. In her excitement, Nakato rushed into their “lesson” and left Zeltzin to catch up. Hopefully, with the friendly exchange of the two wolves, the bond between Taviora and Asteraia could be strengthened. |
