Nakato
nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky |
It takes a moment for Nakato to get used to the pup, but after a few minutes she felt a bit more comfortable with her. She wasn’t like any of the other children the druid had met, both in Moladion and in her home land. Then again, most of the wolves who lived within the plains weren’t like any wolves she had met. They were all unique and that’s what she liked about them. Nevermore was no different. After mentioning her aura, the child stopped and stared at the bob-tailed one. For a long moment, she just looked at her with an unwavering gaze that made Nakato feel a little uncomfortable. Then, she spoke. It was like hearing a snake, but with the beauty and innocence of a black widow. ”An aura is the color of your spirit. Everyone has a color and yours is much like your parents. It’s dark red, like the color of blood. Maybe when you’re older, I can teach you how to see other wolves’ aura,” she said, as she moved into the water. After tossing the fish to the shore, she gazed at the young princess with interest. Then, without knowing what she was doing, the girl smacked the animal back into the water. Ears perked up curiously and a smiled spread across the healer’s face. Perhaps the child wasn’t as bloodthirsty as her parents. At least, not yet. For now, she was just like most pups, curious and still learning the ways of the world. It was nice to see that in a child born of two powerfully dangerous wolves. When Nevermore asked if this was a game, Nakato couldn’t help but giggle lightly. The girl waited on the bank with her tail wagging excitedly, looking proud and triumphant. ”Yes, little one, this is a game we can play. I’ll throw you a fish, you swat it back. You ready?” she giggled. The girl was probably still too young to hunt and eat the slimy meat of a fish. The druid wondered if she had even been weaned yet. With a mental shrug, she let the water calm and waited for the animals to return. It didn’t take long for them to start swimming between her paws. With a splash, she grabbed one in her teeth and threw it again. |
