Inanna was excited about being able to get to know another pup her age, who wasn’t her siblings. Even though she was thrown off balance and confused by his subtly blatant charms. She was on her feet, tail wagging happily behind her, ready to go just about anywhere her new friend would want to take her. His words about being around others encouraged her even more. Being able to go on adventures with more than one other seemed like the thrill of a lifetime. She had only ever gone on her own. Even when he talked about his sister being shy, her desire to meet these other pups still held strong. Possibly because she did not understand what being shy would mean.
Bounding forward, she began their journey towards the beach, paws padding happily in the sand, her tongue rolling out of her mouth. Not only was she happy that they would be going exploring, but they were also leaving her ‘secret’ den far behind, and passing in front of her home den to assure her parents she was still alive (something often brought into question). “I don’t know which goddess, but mom and dad often talk about such things. I don’t usually pay attention. I am too busy trying to dig up shiny rocks and funny plants.” Expertly, unknowingly, she answered both his questions at once while her white tail swayed above her. He asked what crabs were and she halted her trek. “You’ve never seen a crab?” Her nose scrunched. “They pinch you if you’re not careful! You have to jump on them JUST right! You can also try to eat them, they can be really tasty! But they have hard skin the pokes and gets stuck in your teeth.” She jumped forward excitedly again, her feet taking her into a lope. “Really they are just fun to pounce on and roll in when they are dead! They smell so fun!” A mischevious laugh bubbled from her. “Mom doesn’t really like it when I come home after playing with crabs.”
