There he was plodding away from the same field yet again, but this time it held a bit more meaning. His companion headed off in another direction towards another home and the herculean went his own way, crossing over the ashen cavity back into sylvan bearing terra. Thoughts strayed through his mind as the tree’s consumed him. It had been so long since the demon had even thought about his past life. About the royal children let alone his sire… Farant. The horrid monster that had ruined him was one figure of his life that should have praised him and raised him up to be a young man fit for a title. But that was never how it went over for half-blood bastards like himself. Bastards like him were shoved away and silenced. He’d even seen pups have their tongues ripped away from their mouths because they talked too much. But the bloody demon had been blessed with intelligence and luck. His informal relationship to the royal pups led Farant to giving him a chance to live up to something better than a slave. Instead Horizon was placed as the servant to the royal pups. As they grew, he did too but every year he aged the less he remembered of his puphood. Farant had tortured him and ripped away at any memories he had with cruel experimentations and cruelty most would have not experienced at such a young age. It was in moments like these were Horizon felt minute emotions start to surface, memories just under the surface waiting to be triggered. And Akuji had been just the one to bring some of those memories to surface. The flood gates had opened for a short while letting every hidden emotion and suppressed memory rise and consume the demon.
The terra had changed progressively, the thinner groves had thickened and the baby spruce and oaks had transformed into evergreens that reached up into the grayish sky. The light had dispersed into little spots here and there, but none dared to light the maned wolf or his path. And had he not known the Lady to which he was returning he would have taken himself for heading back into the depths of his mind and going back into the darkness that had only kept him alive during his travels to Blossom Forest. It was a darkness that for the longest time had consumed Horizon, all his hope had long since left him during those torrid walks in fiery desert. And even now, among blossoms and sanctuaries Horizon still felt very little. He was inclined to treat ladies with respect as his mother had so aptly taught him but otherwise he attitude could have varied between apathy and hostility. Munashii Gekko was the only place he had chosen, of his own accord, to call home. The ruling Queen Ameira, his friend, was the only reason he had chosen to do so. Anyone to take it away from her would be protested by Horizon himself, and considered a enemy unto him until proven otherwise. As Horizon came upon the border line a strong call rang out through the trees. It resounded for a little while before fading into the surroundings; Ameira was deep within the evergreen land.
Horizon picked up into a trot and weaved around the brush and jumped over logs. His lithe, fiery figure could have been glimpsed through the trees easily, but the blackness that shrouded the territory was beginning to cloak his shoulders in the same shade. As he came upon the origination of the sound he saw the white Queen, with lilac eyes sitting atop an earthy overhang. She was looking around the arena as he eased in through bramble overhang. The thorns brushed through his bloody coat, the texture becoming silk and the wind tossing his feathers like prairie grass. Lady Ameira, a pleasure to see you again. A peaceful day with cool weather, no better way to start. If I do say so myself. Horizon teased lightly, his voice was gentle but still loud enough to be heard across the way.
