They had known each other for a short amount of time but in that time Taika seemed to have gathered a fair understanding of the kind of pup she had rescued. He was resolute in his thoughts and opinions, clearly not wanting to be persuaded from his course. She could not help but smile at his determination and independence. It was a shame he believed so whole-heartedly that one could not survive as a loner, she would have loved to listen to his thoughts on the wonders of the world around them and the intricacies of the places they could travel to.
On the borders of the plains she blinked down at him. Sad? He had mistaken her whine of longing for sadness. Though it could be considered disheartening that she believed there was little chance she would ever visit this place on her own, possibly to never see the magic of the rolling hills. Maybe one day, she hoped. His golden paw touched her chest and she smiled at him, truly touched by the boy’s inherent sweetness. The moment was shattered when the female pup bounded up to them. Taika stepped aside as the two pups greeted each other, one wolf brow raised at the interesting behavior. Still, she could not help but smile though, realizing her own joy when she rubbed against her friends, lover, and Imprint (though it made her Imprint uncomfortable). It was not until Nevermore looked at her and spoke did the feelings of unease drift once more over the gypsy girl. The smile was wiped from her face and she bared her fangs in warning at the child. No. She was not going to be food. The pup seemed captivated by Rhett and Taika’s attention returned to him. Once more she smiled, head tilted to the side.
