Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

Her days with Kirastasia had been bliss, a way to live life without actually having to think about things. Day she was given attention, was groomed, was cared for, was raised. It was a wondrous feeling, as she finally felt contented. She felt safe. The last time that she had been in such a state had been when her brother was still alive, before he had become the mate of Channing. Because they were all that was left of their family, he had felt uniquely obligated to take care of her. They became two pees in a pod, inseparable... Until his heart was called to by Channing. It wasn't as if she was jealous of Channing, for she had never and would never think of her brother in such a way, but she had missed the attention and affection. For a while, it didn't matter. She had quickly made friends within Saw Tooth, and had learned the trade of herb lore and healing. Kahlan had risen within the ranks and Had felt at home. She had tasks to complete, and was known far and wide for her healing skills. But then she had met Kenshin. The wreck that he was, he had dragged her down with him. For it was only after she had met him that her world had started to crumble. Somehow, she had found it in her to forgive him, even after she had found out that he had been the one to cause her entire pack's death. In repayment, he had left her... And then Moth had died. And then the pack had crumbled... But it had all started with Kenshin. Perhaps it had began before that, when her brother had found a mate, but with the recent learning of his death, Kahlan could not bear to blame him for anything at all. And so, all of the blame had fallen instead upon Kenshin's shoulders. Though she still loved him, she had finally broken. She buried her fears and tears in Kirastasia's coat every night until the brindled femme's sweet carresses made her forget everything.

Kahlan never wanted to leave Kirastasia's den in the morning, but Kirastasia had forced her out - gently -telling her to enjoy the spring air and see that winter, truly, was gone. Kahlan had begrudgingly left, and had since regretted it. Yes, winter was gone, but in its wake it left only mud up to Kahlan's knees. The fae swore each time she slipped, a far cry from the light, sweet femme that everyone had previously known. But she wanted to please Kirastasia and so she continued to traverse the lands, muddying her coat, the only thing that was keeping her warm was her thoughts of Kirastasia and how warm she would be once she returned.

But she was risen from her thoughts by a set of vocals. 'Oh come on!' Kahlan paused, her old self wanting to investigate, but her newer mind wanted to flee, move away from any chance of responsibility. For the first time in a while, the healer in her won out, and Kahlan inched closer until she saw a fae attempting to groom herself... No not groom herself, but clean a wound atop of her dorsum. One that she clearly could not reach. "Excuse me..." Kahlan's voice was mild... Meek... And the ess jumped, not recognizing her own vocals. How far she had fallen... "Do you need any help? I am... I was... Saw Tooth's healer. I'm Kahlan."
