aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Khaleesi remained quiet. Her sunken façade remained in place and the ashen Queen did her best to cheer up the little dove. Her swollen figure was bit of a hassell but the Queen placed herself as close to the snowy girl as possible. She remained there, letting herself brace any weight that Khaleesi might lay on her. Sebring wanted to help the girl and being a rock to which she could lean against was a start. Ashen auds flicked at the sound of approaching pawsteps and a smile graced her features as Hellene’s timberess figure appeared once again. While I set this all up, you both should go try to find the plants we learned about last time and poultice your limb. Practice makes perfect, and it has been a long while since last we met. Sebring dipped her crown to Hellene, It’s good to see you again Hellene. She spoke quietly before she left, hopefully with Khaleesi close behind. The queen tugged at her memory trying to think of the herbs and where she had previously found them. The moss had the easiest, by the creek’s bank. Her limbs moved at a leisurely pace. Sebring didn’t want to wear herself out within the first 5 minutes… Her found the moss and ripped it away from the stones carefully and pooled it in a pile before she picked it up. Next was the garlic. It’s pungent smell was the distinctive feature and it did not take long for the stench to overwhelm the lady’s nares. She coughed slightly, it wasn’t this bad last time… damn these hormones… She grumbled quietly to herself. Every piece of her was out of place. She couldn’t even stand the smell of garlic anymore. How pathetic. She pulled gently at the stem, trying to hold her breath so she wouldn’t choke on the smell. She wrapped the stems in a tad bit of moss to keep the taste from taking over her mouth. Lastly she needed poppy. The bright red flower, that she would most likely be eating some of before the birth of her pups, for the pain. She spotted a patch of the flowers quickly and pulled at the stems with delicacy. She didn’t need to be ingesting the plant by accident. Her hormones were already out of whack. She didn’t need drugs to help make her any worse.

Sebring layered the herbs carefully and took off, heading back to the clearing. She arrived shortly after her three herbs in tow. She took her original seat and laid out her herbs for Hellene’s inspection. She had remembered the mistaken poppy from the last session and had made sure to avoid the similarly looking flower. She was sure of her herbs. After being given the ‘all clear’ by Hellene she chewed up the moss. As she moved onto the garlic a clear look of disgust crossed her features as she broke through to the cloves, the stench becoming more obvious. Sebring left the cloves at her paws and continued to make progress on her poulticed limb. She turned to Khaleesi, hoping the femme had stayed close by. Getting a little bit better, aren’t we? She spoke half-jokingly. She had surprised at the clarity of her memory from the last lesson. Sebring’s auds flicked slightly and her attention rose to Hellene as she began to talk. Sebring focused her attention better as the timberess began to explain the next few herbs they would be learning about. She made mental notes as Hellene went along, Echinacea: boost immune system, orange center, purplish-pink petals. Feverfew: looks like a daisy, but less petals and blunt petal points, good for headaches, lower fevers and arthritis in older wolves. Soak or ingest. Lady’s Mantle: lily pad leaves, tiny boquette of flowers. Do NOT eat. she punctuated the thought, dig up and crush root. Topical application for blood clotting. Large wounds like arteries or viens. Sebring couldn’t help the welling memories of the border fight and the mass amounts of blood that had been spilled… Lady’s Mantle was more than likely used to stem that flow from some of the Aurora members… She pushed away the thought as Hellene began to speak again.

The duo was tasked with finding the herbs now. With the arrival of spring Sebring was hoping that these herbs had flourished and risen from the dead ground. Hellene spoke to them individually, Sebring, in your state, I do not want you to end up ingesting any of these as some of them may cause abortion, so instead I will follow you and merely have you identify them to me. If you want to start a garden, I will gather them and carry them to your den for you. Sebring chuckled, and looked at her swollen abdomen. She wasn’t even allowed to carry herbs anymore! How pathetic. But the Queen was pulled from her thoughts as another fea came to a slippery halt before the trio. Eh… I’m so sorry for being so late… I had something I had to take care of… Mother needed food and she kept getting some for me and Mortem but she never ate much herself, so I fetched her a rabbit. She seemed a tab bit stunned and more nervous than anything, but Sebring had recognized her instantly. This was Vita, Chenzii’s daughter. She had been rather sweet at the meeting, but Sebring hadn’t had the chance to befriend her yet. She smiled kindly at the little lady, but Hellene got to her before the Queen could speak up. Aye, you are one of Chenzii's pups, are you not? You are your brother Mortem? Well I have a strict rule of punctuality, but due to recent circumstances and for the fact that you were taking care of my dear friend, I will forgive you. You were not here when these three.. The healer paused and whined, mourning for Daenerys before continuing her speech. ... You were not here when these two had their first lesson. I will have to teach you the first three herbs another day. As for today... Sebring felt her heart sink at the thought of Daenerys. The girl had been sweet, and her time had come to an end too soon. That was all too obvious. Sebring took Hellene’s cue and plodded away quietly, a small sigh escaping her lips as she disappeared into the trees.

She walked along her own little path towards a place where she could only hope her memory hadn’t failed her. She had been wandering through the terra and had taken to observing the fauna around her. Specially noting plants that looked interesting to her. The description of Enchinacea had tipped her memory of a little grove she had stumbled onto once before. A similar plant had grown in the area. The ashen lady tottered along towards the place, making good time though Hellene was likely to catch her before she reached her destination. Her honey pools scavenged the terra as she continued should she manage to come across one of the other plants. Her turned her away to the left and took a quick glimpse and kept walking but she quickly stopped and back tracked. Soft white petals swayed in a gentle breeze and as Sebring padded closer she pulled up her little mental check list. She looked at the petals their edges were blunt and there were very few petals in comparison to the daisies she had glimpsed in Blossom Field. She had found herself Feverfew! Her barked out hoping to let Hellene know of her location. Her tail wagged in happiness and when Hellene came up beside her, she smiled brightly, I found feverfew! Sebring looked to Hellene for confirmation. Once she was confirmed on her findings Sebring would turn back towards her original destination. I’ve not had the luck of stumbling across Lady’s Mantle before. What sort of areas would I be more likely to find this herb? Sebring looked to Hellene, hopeful that she might receive an answer to help her in her search for odd looking plant.

The little grove that Sebring had originally planned on finding was not far from the patch of feverfew. She could already feel her heart beating harder and her breath was a slightly bit more labored than before. Sebring took in a deep breath to calm her heart and regulate her breath. She pushed through the undergrowth into the small clearing and was greeted by a familiar sight, the purplish-pink flowers. Their bright orange centers a strange sight to see. My little patch of Echinacea. I happened to stumble on this while I was wandering around Aurora one morning. I had planned on asking you about it, but it seems I got the answer to my question before I could ask. She teased Hellene lightly. She knew the timberess was known for her strictness, she had seen her being stern with Kalgalath. It had been a tab bit funny, seeing Kalgalath being told what to do. Sebring walked over to the flower and sat down. Her rump landed with a soft thump. Who knew pregnancy could be such an exhausting thing… I can’t hardly make round with Kalgalath anymore because I tire out so easily. Is there anything I can take to alleviate this, Hellene? She stayed sitting for a few more moment, hopeful that Hellene might have an answer for her, but she needed to find the final herb. She figured she would follow whatever hints Hellene had given, or not, from her question earlier. She turned back in the direction of the clearing where the two little ess’ were likely to be waiting on them. She felt strange to have wolves wait on her, but mostly she felt bad. She was out of shape, literally, with her swelled abdomen.

The ashen queen made a slight detour to the bank of the creek that she had found the moss alongside. She took a second to sip at the water and as her eyes rose up she caught sight of the last herb she needed. The Lady’s Mantle swayed idly at the banks edge. Sebring looked to Hellene and pointed to the plant, Lady’s Mantle, just across the bank. She stated it quietly, but with happy pride, that she had found the herb. She turned to Hellene for final conformation, before she turned back to the clearing hoping to make decent time back to the arena. As the two broke the clearing she would not have been surprised to find the two ess’ having arrived before her and Hellene. She took her quietly and awaited further instruction from the timberess.
