aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

To sum up the last few days of her life the Queen could only think of the word hectic Never had she been so confronted and conflicted over anything. It felt like only seconds ago she had been standing at the defense of Aindreas and the little lady, who she came to know as Losa. And the intruder? The massive warrior was Hurricane, and from what the ashen woman could discern he was the guardian-lover of the little earthen fairy. She felt the rise of her hackles at haunting image of the blood soaked soldier, his lighting gazers so empty. Desolate. But as Losa rose up he found comfort in her touch and relaxed into her touch, her words. The mastiff was wrapped around her paw, and completely bent to her will. The man would have killed on her word. Sebring would have been as good as dead had he lunged at the sight of her, but eventually all had been understood to an extent and the peace was returned to the resting wounded. Hellene would have her paws full with those two and the trailing shadow that was Hurricane. But that was the past and the Queen was currently out to relax and wash away the remnants of the disturbance from her mind and body.

Peppered paws plodded across the springy grass leisurely and the Queen paid no mind to where it was she was headed. The terra of Aurora Borealis was extensive and offered a range of sights to see no matter where she went, but she took careful measures to point herself in the direction of the lakeside. She had been there only a few days ago with the lovely little Tarly. Sebring purred contentedly remembering their little run-in – literally. They had started off as strangers and Tarly had been vehemently fearful of the ashen lady. But through a bit of coaxing and motherly tending the bruteling had slowly come around and they had formed the start of a friendship. The Queen couldn’t have asked for a better way to end that day. She had taken it upon herself to help the little lad learn the layout of Aurora. Though expansive it could be done, Sebring remembered the first time she had made a full round with Kalgalath, she had known only a stitch of the land which they covered. Now the Queen reigned confidently in her knowledge of the land and she hoped that Tarly could share that with her one day. No matter how long it took. Patience was a strong trait that ran through the Queen, but more than that she understood the immense fear that Tarly harbored. She knew the distant looks that had crossed over his features, more than once. She knew the jumps at the sudden shifts of shadows or the constant need to cower away from the larger, unknown wolves around. It had been a constant of her younger years, and even to the point of her first meeting with Kalgalath. She hoped that she could what Kalgalath had been for her, to Tarly.

The glittering surface of the lake blinded Sebring momentarily as she broke through the undergrowth. She smiled in spite of the lack of visibility, she had committed the layout of the lakeside to memory and knew every step of the way as clear as day in her mind’s eye. She plodded forward until the lap of waves slowly rose up and washed over her sides rinsing away the stresses of Alphaship. A soft, audible sigh escaped her lips. She was content to sway with the water all day and she would have remained in the cool embrace had the sudden ring of an unknown caller had not broken across the sky and her concentration. Honeyed orbs open and looked in the direction of the sound, realizing that it was not far from her current location. She pushed her way back to shore and shook the water from her fur, until only small droplets remained. The sunlight quickly burned them away leaving behind a sleek, well groomed coat of ash and mousy shades. As she padded towards the call she picked up the scent of her two young sons. Her brow scrunched and she picked up her pace into a gentle lope. She pulled up and walked into the clearing finding her two children, heirs to Aurora, already addressing the pair at the border.

Castiel had only just arrived and was asking of their relation and Sebring paused long enough to allow for a short answer before inserting herself into the introductions, I am Sebring, Alphess of Auora Borealis. Mother of the two little gentlemen you have already met. I’m sure they’ve already inquired but what brings you to our borders? Sebring sat beside her two little puffs of smoke and silver. Her tail curled diplomatically over her own peppered paws. The pair across the borders did not seem to seek refuge in their home, but Sebring knew naught of what they truly wanted. If Kalgalath showed upon the border it would a family greeting. What a cute little idea. Sebring looked to the eldest of the two esses a small smile lifting her lips, before she turned her gaze to her two sons. She gave each a small kiss atop their crowns, Already taking up responsibility are we? She teased them lightly, but was more than happy to see them participating in pack ongoings.
