Already there had been a light dusting of snow within the low grassy-lands. All throughout autumn the Monster felt the faintest grip of old man winter, the howling winds held a chipper and bitter touch, as they sliced through her thick obsidian and grey fur. Before winter she checked on all the wolves making sure that all would be ready and prepared. The snow here would get deep in certain places and she wanted to make sure that all her members would be safe. In Winter there was time of Death and she knew that Mother Nature would possibly take one of their own – be they young or old. Which led to Tick Tock thinking about Eric, the old wolf that was in charge of the Hunts, and she knew that his time was ticking quickly away. It was a shame how old age could bring the strongest of wolves down. Yet that was life and no one could escape the feeling of Death’s cold touch. Starshade would be the next candidate to replace Eric, but she wanted to see if Starshade could prove her worth for such a distinct rank and the critical responsibility that came with it.
After this winter her own children would reach the half point of their younger years. She was determined to continue their training. Teaching each child the different strengths they would need not just in life, but being a leader as well. Nevermore would one day take the fields and Gunsynd would make his own mark out in the world. Her children strikingly opposite of one another: one dark, one light, one highly intelligent, the other extremely clever, they were her children, they each held a part of their own parents...and she treasured them dearly. Perhaps because they were her children, created by herself and her imprint, the bond on them was much stronger than perhaps any other parent would with a wolf that was their mate. The Monster was prepared to continue their lessons, eager to help them grow, but concerned for them as well.
Today she had walked with Flare to monitor the borders, reestablishing her scent, wanting the lines obvious even If the snow was thick this year. Flare had already gone off to go and check on the children, a role that Flare was quite happy to do. Tick Tock did not mind travelling along the side of her territory that met the entrance of the woodlands, an area she was quite familiar with. This area was the most active, it was the place that every wolf deemed the starting place to enter Asteraia or to communicate with those that called the fields their home. As she walked along she caught an unknown scent that was on the other side of the line, both grey-trimmed ears twitched back and forth in interest. Picking up her steps she followed the trail and eventually her dark sapphire eyes caught the sight of a loner that was shuffling along. With a warning bark the Monster alerted to the other that she had spotted him, and she was coming over. She didn’t do it in such a way that would show aggression, she just wanted the other to be aware, that he was no longer alone.
Dark paws would slam on the ground as brief indentions of her paw on the ground could be seen along the dusted over ground. Both ears were pointed forward in interest, her body holding with much ease the raw power of being an Alpha. Though her tail was not raised in such a way to show her rank, nor was her dial held in such an authoritative or egoistical way. There was no need to be show boating. Eventually she would come up close to the other wolf, keeping herself on her side, dark sapphire eyes looked over the other male, noticing that he appeared to be similar or close to the age of her own children. Her jaw would fall as she let slip her cold voice, observing the other and wondering why he was here in the first place. He barely held the scent of the mountains and she assumed that perhaps he was here to see some of the wolves that were former mountain members.
“You’ve been wandering along the borders, is there something you want?”
